Zone of the Enders: Idolo

This is a pleasant surprise. Nice add Dao. Although it’s a older movie, circa 2001, by no means does that make it inferior to current mecha fair.

In fact, in my humble opinion it’s quite good. Somewhere between Patlabor and Macross.

Although there is an anime series (which is also worth seeing), This is a stand alone and not simply rehashed material from the series. Though it does seem a bit rushed in places. The plot is solid and manages to provide a complete experience.

Indeed a pleasant surprise. Albeit the plot of this movie and the follow-up anime series are a side story to the games, they are quite solid in themselves. Still, for people uninterested in the ZOE games the scenario might prove uninteresting.
