I don’t mind adfly since it’s on most free sites but would be great to implement a sort of dontation vs advertising system. This way bandwidth can be purchased with either donations & advertising.

Yeah, were currently thinking of new benefits for donors that way we can maybe get more donations. We used to have a premium section for donors where you could just download animes easily but it was taken down during the SOPA/PIPA incident and its possible that we will be that back. No guarantee’s yet though.

I don’t mind Adfly if its only for a short time. That’s in my case, many people get errors when going through Adfly, what can those people do to continue enjoying anime from Animetake?

Te site owner must be a fucking greedy pig. You’ve got ads all over the place, you host nothing but a website (because all files are extern), and you expect me to believe you’re not making money? Ridiculous.

Everyone is greedy, its human nature to desire something. I don’t blame the owner for doing what he did but at least he re considered about it. Also, I believe even if AT isn’t hosting anything but a Wordpress and VBulletin, it still costs a quite handful of bandwidth for the amount of visitors it gets.

What different betwen Common and Premium Download ?

We used to have a section for donors only called “Premium Downloads”. You were able to download all the on-going series thats posted on animetake with our server which was a direct link that provides fast speeds and required no captchas of the sort. You were also able to request series up on the section as well. The only reason why we discontinued it was because of the SOPA/PIPA incident, but now that its shoved, we are thinking of implementing it back again. Donors also get other small benefits such as a green name when you comment, a green name on the forums, a custom user title on the forums, and a little bit bigger avatar on the forums.

adding adf.ly links is ok on DDL links, but on torrent links are absolutely not good. Torrent links are hosted by known trackers (nyaa, tokyotosho, minglong, etc…)getting payments on this good known trackers are bad, rather, they were the one who needs the money for hosting the torrent and tracking it, also feel bad for the fansubbers who release it for free in XDCC and Bittorrent file transfers.

What’s about Complete Anime like Azumanga Daioh or Lucky Star or Anime in before 2012? Many of them don’t have it’s file anymore (broken link even the Torrent).I can get that anime if im using Premium Download ?

Donations have been back. On the top right corner of the home page is the donation button. Premium downloads haven’t been implemented back yet as we are trying to get a really big server (something about 8TB) for it.

I use torrents, so Adfly doesn’t matter to me. However, I understand that Animetake needs to pay its servers, so they are fine.

Why do some people have blue or pink usenames?

The colors are the user’s color on the forums. Back then they didn’t show up in comments but now they do.
Blue = Super Moderator
Pink = Administrator
Green = Donor

normal people are coming back online now.

We don’t have a “Support Staff” All of our staff is basically support can can support others. This doesn’t mean all of us have certain powers though, only very few can do things like actually make modifications to the site.

You probably won’t read this but…
Do you have Any idea how much traffic this place gets? look at this post’s comments and try to imagine. Ads usually pay more the more visits you get, so with all these ads it’s hard to imagine the owner of the site not having quite some extra money.

Also, to any half decent programming, making a script that checks the fansubbers sites and fetches new episodes should be easy. Not to mention the people posting the links (i.e doing all the work) are not the site owners, as far as I know…

At any rate, I’m not expecting him to do stuff for free, as most of us do (I translate some of the stuff you might have seen/played), but adfly? come on… At last don’t try to pretend you’re not making money out of this, I find it sincirely hard to believe.
