Btw. does anyone know how many episodes this shall be in the end?
Because if you take the visual novels into account it should be pretty much. After all this is still episode 1 of the first visual novel with (I have not watched this Anime episode yet but it should be so) some more to go and here it was possibly to leave out some introductions. However, starting with episode 2 of visual novel, there aren’t too many introductions anymore. And I think that starting with episode 3 of the visual novell, they become way longer than ep1 or ep2 (btw. I think that starting with visual novel ep2 the story becomes really interesting; probably even more with ep3).
However, that would only close the “question arcs”, with the answer arcs then in “Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru”. I wonder will the seperate those two like with the visual novels?

if it follow like higurashi then it be 26ep and have another season if not then no the whole thing pack in this one and end it

Hmm… I somehow doubt that the could put everything in a single 26 episode season (with the answer arcs). 26 episodes might be possible for the question arcs though – but still a bit hard; I guess they have to leave out various things (which might not be that important though but would still be interesting).

My best presumption is 24-26 episodes with game episodes 1-4. That would be by far the most logical way for them to do it.

Hmm, can anyone upload an avi version? I’ve been attempting to convert the mkv to a PS3 Xvid avi so I could watch them on my PS3, however unlike the first 3 (which I converted using the avi files) this mkv is refusing to transfer the subs along with the video. D:

@ghost_zero So far umineko has followed higurashis pattern of the first 4 games being question arcs, and the 5th being an answer arc. I think it’s likely there will be 4 answer arcs. As for the 5th game, yes it comes out in august at the comiket, and the witch hunt hasn’t said anything about not translating, so I’d say it’s safe to say they will. I’m not sure about the chiru-san thing, as alternative sources list it differently. Chiru seems to be more common though.

Btw. is there no 720p version? I definitely recognize a difference on my monitor between 720p and this (actually I think even with another monitor that for this episode the encoding quality isn’t that good).
Well: If we could find a fitting RAW file, we could even manually create one pretty easy but finding a fitting RAW is probably not that easy.

Ah The “almost’ Rena moment was awesome. Kanon even had very similar clothing. Black instead of white…but he failed, Rena still has the monopoly on life and taking it. Hehehehe
