That ZOMG download page is horrible. I use them quite often but I’ve never had their ads be as intrusive as they are with this download. Can’t even use it due to malware-esque behavior of the site this time. Tried twice and had to end process on my browser both times to regain control.

Yeah, the new (?) ads at ZOMGUpload are really annoying. But it’s not like my browser freezes, but it still annoys me.

mine won;t allow em to generate links, works browser still. really crap.

2) learn to internet, because you are at risk of getting owned by any drive-by site according to your description.

1) I’ve never issues like this with the ads on ZOMGupload before. Maybe they should be a bit more careful about their ad partners. Nobody will see the ads of a site they avoid. ;-)

2) I’m on Firefox with AdBlock+ running. Let me tell you want happened: An advertisement opens and I get one of those dialogs that says “Do you want to navigate away from this page?” Now, I’m smart enough to carefully read the question in case they throw in a double negative, but I can’t do anything when the dialog box has been sized taller than my 24″ screen and I can’t reach the buttons. I can close the box, the title bar is still visible, but when new ones appear at a rate faster than I can get rid of the old ones that doesn’t help now does it? Also, clicking other app windows did not bring them to the front, and at one point I found I was unable to click other taskbar buttons, the cursor acted like the top of the taskbar was the bottom of the screen. Meanwhile, there’s still something loading in the background; maybe more boxes asking me if I’m sure I want to leave but cannot answer, maybe something worse, I don’t know. So I found myself at a point that other than End-tasking the whole browser I was a bit stuck.

But maybe I missed something. I’m such a noob having only been on the Internet for about 15 years now.

Wow. I haven’t downloaded from zomg for awhile – and I won’t be any time soon again. I have ad blockers and the highest security settings that aren’t supposed to let any page open that I haven’t navigated to specifically … and I still got four of the same pop up ads. I try to actually wait and look at the same ad with the crooked furniture when it asks you to wait 10 seconds and then you’ll be re-directed… but this was too much!

could you check again, the owner ditched an ad network from it that was believed to cause those things(inline page ads and 4 popups where not supposed to happen<_<)

Yeah I’ve just tested one now but it came up with a harmles shipping network instead.

Okay, the ads are now gone, at least for me. Thanks, whoever did this.

I didn’t get an ad at all. Was probably blocked by AdBlock+.

I don’t mind the ads, just when they do their best to keep you from using the site. Sure doesn’t make me want to use their product/service either, so I don’t know what the point of it is in the advertiser’s minds.
