I’m confused as to when the first episode came out. Oh wait, it was that cross-over thing?

wtf? episode 2 after one piss crossover?

    chupacabra Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 12:50 am

This is the first episode actually, is just that kaen and anime empire are stupid and didn’t realize that the episode they named “01″ was the cross over

    April 12th, 2011 at 12:55 am

yup this is the first episode. i had this same issue last weak with the special because [A-Destiny_SGKK] cant number shit right either

The crossover counted as an episode both for one piece and for Toriko.

    chomio Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 1:06 am

I guess it is the official numbering, the second episode, the first was combined with the One piece episode 492.
This is what they call annoying, if they start to combine everything, then your forced to watch both series somehow, this is possible some new way of selling. I’ve got the bad feeling, they are gonna try it more…

    sardavenkatesh9 Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 1:07 am

    yup

    chupacabra Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 1:19 am

the so called first episode can’t be counted for, why? cuz is out of place, it has no relation to anything that happened in the manga or the story that it tells.

So therefore is more like an addition.

    Koga Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 1:19 am

ok japanese site shows crossover as ep1 and even though its retarded and it had nothing to do with the story line ill number this ep 2.

why you would have something as ep 1 and then in ep 2 actually begin the story is beyond me.

    Okami_Joe Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 1:20 am

So, the Cross-over was Toriko 1 and One Piece 492?

    And the Jump Special here:

    http://www.animetake.com/toriko-jump-special/

    is actually episode 2.

    Logic, how does it work?

    chomio Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 1:22 am

It’s even the same episode as the toriko ova (2010) except it’s a bit shorter and in HD. -_-

    Koga Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 1:28 am

how you got the jump special as being ep 2 is beyond me also.

    Kaze-no-Ou Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 1:37 am

Shonen Jump knows what they’re doing, and that crossover was pretty good. Too bad Toriko’s team members seem kinda lame compared to him

    Okami_Joe Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 2:16 am

Ok, so it really isn’t the same as the Special (Direction-wise), but anyway, releasing it it as episode 2, why?

    msdcp Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 2:52 am

    @chupacabra

The crossover was officially episode 1. Yes, it does seound stupid but that’s what it officially is. Don’t go saying the subbers are stupid with no basis. At least they went through the trouble of subbing it for you people.

I have to say I am just a little disappointed, Toei really botched this compared to the Original OVA,

    SPOILER ALERT

    LALALALALALAL (COVER YOUR EYES)

    LALALALALALALAL

    ok

when he uses knife and fork in the manga (and OVA) he Pierces and SLICES the shit through the Galala Wani and then finishes it with the Three nail punch (forgot the jap name) and its freakin awesome. The Galala wani looks intense as shit, it doesnt look like a giant rubber toy. and the leeches? toriko doesnt get a couple on his arm then brush them off, he gets covered with them and then bursts them off from the SHEER EXCELLENCE of his muscles, in all honesty the timeslot is just wrong for this sort of show, it should be shown a little later and not make Toriko’s prey out to look like pansies, seriously disappointed, Toei better lift their game

I was expecting them to change this episode to properly reflect the manga. Now that they haven’t I don’t see the point in the special.

Komatsu’s voice actor is annoying me, because I know he’s got a very good voice and is quite diverse, but he’s/they’ve picked an awful tone/pitch for Komatsu.

They left out the cigarette tree bit too.
Also, why the fudge did they turn Tom white? At least he only has a few showings. They just better not do something like that to a long term character.

    Otaku Says:
    April 12th, 2011 at 2:25 pm

I take back what I said after watching the rest of the episode, now I don’t see the point in them doing this episode. They should have carried on after the special ’cause the special was much better.
There’s quite a bit of gore in this so they better not carry on like they did in this episode…

Also, edit button would be nice. Just saying

    Someone Else Says:
    April 13th, 2011 at 6:42 am

    gore?

Anyways Toriko is a Monster Hunter!! Its just that he focuses more on the meat rather than the fang, scales and claws of the monster

    Otaku Says:
    April 13th, 2011 at 10:26 am

What I mean is that over the course of the manga there have been many monsters cut to bits as well as humans losing body parts etc.
Not sure why you were mentioning Toriko being more interested in meat, that goes without saying.
His rule is that he only ever kills something he can/will eat.

    Harry4eyes Says:

Shouldn’t this be Episode 1? Last weeks was a Crossover so it shouldn’t count plus was a double episode so if it does count this should be Episdoe 3.

I really don’t want to watch this anime, the idea of hunting and killing hard to find animals, just doesn’t quite sit well with me, even if for convenience sake it’s in a world where Animals are in the plenty.

However I can also see the One Piece and DBZ influence in the anime so I should give it a go.

    I love this anime

    Otaku Says:
    April 15th, 2011 at 6:57 pm

    @Harry
In terms of the actual story, this would be episode one. In terms of the anime being aired, it’s classed as 2. The crossover counted as an episode for One Piece and Toriko
