@Stix – I assume you are using MPC or Zoom player (granted I’m sure they aren’t the only ones that have this problem) anyway it’s because the karaoke is soft-subbed and some players have trouble switching the syllables colors quickly like that due to the way they handle subs. (The karaoke will work on some players and not on others)

Ok look we arnt speed subs damn it, i realise that your feeble minds cant accept that qualaty subs can come out fast, but were jsut that damn good, we just seem fast because every one else is patheticaly slow. This would have been out more than 12 hours prior to what we put it out if we were speed subbing it, this went through a full QC screen and a full staff editing to creat the most accurate script possible. GG aint better than us, there slower than us, there qualaty is slightly less than ours, their typesetting is on par, and there translations arnt as good, due to the fact that each of our scritps is run over by 2 translaters a TLC then several editors (i am not one of them, yes i know my spelling sucks) see “WOOOO!!! 3 is out!!! But I’ll wait for GG…” thease kind of comments, not needed, pointless crap gtfo and suck GG, they will troll you and lol. “Stix:

It works even with a simple CCCP downloaded/which is using *MPC* and not some fail that you’re using. Regarding your last statement, feel free to PM me for a month’s log files.

Well crap, it looks like I misunderestimated the sitchiation. The karaoke is fine, I just assumed he was having the same problems I was having with an earlier soft-sub karaoke on an osu! release that worked in some players but not my wonderful MPC. My sincerest apologies.

Also, the prospect of good AND fast subs is too much for us okay. Although “We’re just that damn good” is pretty DAMN reassuring (even with the “jsut” mistake)

Thx for the quick up. BTW, people, Aero is quality subs. Just download it and decide for yourself instead of automatically assuming things and asking for anonymous other peoples’s opinions. This sounds like the GG vs Eclipse arguments that always ensued over Code Geass fansubs. Desipite the fact that Nightspeed had better quality and came out before both of them, at least for the last half of R2.

Also, the prospect of good AND fast subs is too much for us okay.

See i wanted to be nice to our leachers, i didnt want to be like the other subbers, but then we keep getting more and more crap like this, we work our asses off to get this stuff out as fast as we can, and in the highest possible qualaty that we can, the response we get ‘you fail cause your speed subs, i wont even bother to watch the ep your just fail, group XYZ is better because one time one of the ops voiced me in their irc chan and iv been gay for them ever sinse’ Hours and hours of our time go into each ep that we put out, we all loose lots of sleep to get this stuff done, i just get really pissed off when we get idiot comments like that. Your gay for them, i get that, i dont know why, but i get that, post your ‘plz2let me suck you off’ comments on there episodes, not ours. I appolagise to the majoraty of you that are decent people, my rants are aimed at the few idiots out there who just give me the shits.

I’m downloading this series from Aero for multiple reasons: the quality isn’t bad, it’s mostly subbed faster then any other subgroup, Veritias is the distro =P, I’m lazy and I’m going to stick with this ;)

err… that “just” comment wasn’t made at your expence, as I did read that part in the brackets. Also, how long have you been on the internet? I appreciate the work you guys do (as I stated earlier), but most of the internet is filled with stupid people who can’t even get the mkv file to play, let alone get the subs to work, let alone know good subs from bad, so they’ll just latch on to whatever they see first and defend it for seemingly no reason.

The reason I assumed you guys were speed subs was because it had been mentioned that you guys were a “reformation” of A.S.S. and personal experience. O think you’re subs are fine, my main complaint was the encoder. I looked at you’re release and a tadashi release, and the quality was worlds apart. That is why I assumed you were speed subs. I apologize if you took anything I said as disrespectful or unappreciative. I am, however, not defending the rest of the internet.

Just download the files or don’t, if you don’t like them, don’t watch them, wait for something else. But unless you are able to translate and encode them yourselves, stfu and be thankful someone took the time to do it.

If Aero is newly formed, then Toradora is a great show to use to build up your reputation, since it seems to have a wide range of enthusiastic people watching it. Don’t worry about a couple internet failures who don’t know how to use codecs. A quality fansub speaks for itself, and a fast fansub gets noticed.

Meh, I’ve never liked GG subs all that much. They tend to be pretty generic. Either way, I will normally say something about the subs here if they are good or bad but now it looks like I will also have to be wary of some form of repercussion from the sub group =/.

I’ve noticed over the months that I have been in here that many of you are using sub par computers. By now, I would have thought that many of you how subbing works with mkv. What I often notice is when you experience some form of technical error, it tends to be just you and not at the fault of the subbing group. It would be best before jumping to conclusions to ask around about your technical issues.

Thank you, you’ve provided a perfect example. What I mean is, saying (mostly) positive things like that and saying them here (this place and Aero go together like cocaine and waffles) is cool. However saying negative things about a group is pretty much pure douchebaggery wherever you are, let alone in a place where the staff frequent.

I realize that my comment “my main complaint is the encoder” may make me sound a little hipocritical but it’s more constructive as I am pointing out something that can be specifically improved upon (and I also realize it would be a hell of a lot more constructive if I could give him a better encoding script…unfortunately I don’t kick that much ass) A compliment a day keeps the lack of subbers away.

Okay, so some of you seem to be questioning Aero subs simply because of either:
A) You don’t recognize their name
B) You think they’re speed subs cause your comp can’t handle their encodes

First of all, they’re not speed subs. They’re just a reformation of Annonymous Speed Subs (A.S.S) who complete episodes just a bit faster than other groups. Other groups sometimes procrastinate or have lags during certain parts of their subbing process. Aero has just optimized that process so they can get quality subs out faster than other groups. This does NOT mean they’re speed subs.

They’re fast subbers, but not speed subbers cause the other groups are just slower than them.

Next, translating, encoding, and providing these subs take time, effort, and money. Most sub groups receive small donations from supporters to fund their bandwidth and servers. Otherwise, sub groups are doing this out of the sake of being kind and hoping to share their love of anime with other fans who cannot understand Japanese. Regardless, we should respect and be grateful for their work.

If you do feel it is something you don’t like, you can just wait for another group or even start your own sub group. Flaming others doesn’t help.

Aero subs is an excellent group and the admins at Animetake support them fully.

Personally i like Aero, but i watch GG’s subs for Toradora thou. so why did i choose GG for this show? well, i downloaded the first 2 episodes from GG and i tend to stick with the same sub-group for an entire series once i start watching. its not bad subs either, so i see no reason to switch. yours are faster, but personally i dont care to wait for 1 extra day or so

this shit is ridiculous

I found that this sub was on par with most other groups meaning there was a distinct lack of timing issues, poor translations, typos, grammar issues, etc. What i did find was that the colors made my eyes hurt a little, i don’t know if this was the encoder but i suspect that it was the animators.

personally i think you don’t have anything to whine about until you read about mass naked child events, even then you should probably just stop watching your loli-hentai animes.

Why don’t you guys just stick to the fansub of your choice? Who cares if some other group releases theirs before your “favorite”; just wait it out.

Subgroups should not flame other subgroups. It makes your group look stupid and immature.

And for the rest of you guys, Aero subs is indeed good. I watch both Aero and gg’s subs, and both are good. So, I personally won’t put one against another, as they both work for me perfectly fine, without all those “shit” many of you mentioned that were in their subs.

Also, to top it off, which group have you seen doing 6-8 projects, and putting them out fast and good? I wouldn’t want to “boast” so much of this in a sense, but we do have a team of superbly dedicated staff willing to go to the extra mile for the love of anime and bringing english subtitles for you guys.

Here’s a question that’s been on my mind: why are most anime in MKV, and not in MP4?

After comparing the MP4 version (Aero) to the MKV version (gg), the MP4 has better quality — both video and audio. Of course, if I had the MKV version (Aero), I would have a better comparison..

I’m pretty sure that the advantage of MKV is that you can turn the subs off if you want, and if you have another set of subs, and the know-how, you can add them to the file for more playback options.

Just grabbed Aero’s MKV version of Ep. 2 (wish I got Ep. 3, but that was going too slow.. for now), and realized that there wasn’t any audio/visual difference (there was a slight visual difference, but that’s most likely due to the RAW quality; wish I had Ep. 3 of the MKV to fully confirm).

The reason why subbers use MKV is because out of all of the available file formats, the least quality loss is with MKV.
