At least it’s new animation every time. And Kyon is slowly starting to remember the loop. Every Groundhogday storyline that has ever existed relies on repetition if it’s a 2 hour movie or a 1 hours drama it’s easy to complete but a half hour cartoon it’s not as easy to replicate the same type of storyline thus this weird way of doing it.

watched, it’s only another “recursion of time”, at this point I’m convinced that this arc will have 8 chapters to much the title “Endless eight” and if so after this I don’t think that there will remind any fun of this series.

OMG! From the end it seems that there will be at least one more episode like this because Kyon didn’t say something at the time Haruhi leaves – again.

Btw.: If I wouldn’t be interested in this Anime at all, I might find it somewhat funny (but as said: If I wouldn’t be interested).
The main problem is that there shall only be 14 new episodes and 5 of those have already been used for THIS. Not to mention that regarding the end of this episode, there will probably be at least one more of those.

This repetition cant make us feel like the characters, they get a memory wipe each rotation, Yuki is the only one who remembers and she is not human, it’s been established that she doesn’t think like a human so how are fans going to empathize with that. It’s fairly clear that they have no intention of animating the entire remainder of the Tanigawa books and for what they do intend to do there isn’t enough to spread over 14 episodes.
Endless Eight, which I fully believe is going to take 8 episodes is probably being used to fill up the season leaving 5 episodes for what they plan to animate.
It would have been better if thay had not picked the story up at all, just leave it at the one season instead of butchering it in this way.
I’m sure there will be sheep that will buy DVDs of this abortion, just as sure as there are lowlife trolls here that will enjoy the misery of people grieved at seeing a good story ruined. Some people can always be counted on to live down to their lowest impulses and nothing pleases this sort more than seeing someone else suffer. But in the long run I suspect Kyoanni is going to regret not exercising better oversight in what is going to lose fans to a profitable franchise.

Free SHIT indeed, but what would be the logic of shafting every single viewer in the Japanese market to get at a few fansubbers off in countries that shouldn’t matter to them? That’s killing the patient to cure the disease.

Suspense implies that you don’t know whats going to happen next, that isn’t the case here, we know exactly wtf is going to happen next, there is no suspense here and that is the problem. This isn’t suspense, this is going to the dentist and praying for when the sound of the drilling stops.

The suspense is that Kyon is slowly starting to catch on on his own with every repetition. Each time getting closer to figuring out what to do.

While the possibility of poisoning the water seems ridiculous to us westerners, it might not be so crazy in japan where they’re possibly eating this up with a bowl of noodles on the side because they have a higher tolerance for melodrama. For them it’s a free show that they can watch that’s keeping them in suspense, for us it’s something we have to expend an effort for.

whether it be translating or downloading torrents, dealing with popups on megaupload or simply booting up the PC each week to find the download, it’s still more of an effort for us than simply turning on a tv at a predefined hour. The people complaining are doing so because the free thing they’ve been getting is being held up by this story line, it kills off their enthusiasm because they have to actively translate the minor changes or redownload it over and over with slight differences and spend storage space, while the native watchers go “man, I wonder when it’ll end…” because they have nothing further invested. Hell if they want to know the end of the story they can just pick up the book, again something a lot easier for them than for us.

Not that I’m saying that’s what’s happening, I’m just suggesting it as a possibility. I, for one, am not complaining because I DO see the differences, and as long as people keep subtitling it (which again if they’re poisoning the water might cause some groups to drop it.) I’ll keep watching. That’s what they’re counting on from fans because those are the ones that actually WILL go out and buy the DVDs.

btw, I think trial by fire is cooler then trial by water, that’s just my opinion though.

That is a failed marketing strategy because even though the brain dead die hards will lap this up, many existing more casual fans as well as new viewers will be turned off and tune in to a different channel and watch a different show, this equals lost advertising revenue for the broadcasters who will then be less likely to pick up a given series for a given director if his product flops, at the same time these same viewers will also be less likely to buy the DVDs knowing that entire volumes are going to be wasted on a repeat episode.
Studios and Broadcasters don’t produce for niche markets, they want to make money so they want to appeal to as large a market as possible and this is definitely the wrong way to go about it.

As for the suspense, Kyon figured out what to do at recursion 15498 in a single chapter of one book. This isn’t Bleach or Naruto where they throw away dozens of episodes on a single event there are only 28 episodes in the combined seasons of Haruhi so they have pretty much thrown almost half of this season into the crapper.

Anyways, I’m one of the people who can actually understand what is going on. The next arc deals with Haruhi’s disappearance due to Nagato. The director is, in all likelihood, attempting to show us even the smallest sliver of the depths of boredom that she is facing currently.

Hmm, I don’t see any good point in having this repetition.One thing is obvious, they’re deliberately doing this, or whatever reasons. Maybe to really stress out that time really looped on that specific period, or they want to position us viewer on Yuki’s shoes. Other reasons might be (they’re only my speculations though) they want to test how will the Haruhi series stand firm in spite of doing all of this crap. They’ve done juggling the order of the episodes, hang us up for 2 years, then what about doing a repetitive episode? And as expected a lot of us are now ranting of this. Anyway that’s just my view though. And I’m not that discouraged yet, still enjoy watching those repetitive episodes.

I love this stuff. I loved the silent minute and a half or whatever in an elevator in one of the last Evangelion episodes, I loved “Destroy us all!,” I loved the thirty seconds of clock-ticking at the end of this episode, and I think it’s freakin’ awesome that they’re repeating the same episode over and over. It’s their 595 years of summers, and Kadokawa has made it one summer of ours.

Stepping out and doing something new is the best trait an anime could have.

I don’t even watch the whole episode, I check the last 5 minutes to see if he’s still letting her get away at the diner. Maybe people think that episodes with only subtle differences, different “camera angles” whatever, is a good thing, to that all I have to say is 14 episodes, that’s all there is this new season, now subtract 6 to 8 for Endless Eight and what do you have left?
Think they’ll have enough episodes left for the Disappaerance arc, for Snow mountain, for any of the rest? I don’t.

That could have been shortened easily to three episodes to bring the point across.
The first one being pretty normal, the second one for the “huh?” and the third one for the conclusion. I think very few would have been enraged by that…

I think I can explain:
There is a total of Classified information episodes in this season. It will be concluded in the Classified informationth episode with Haruhi Classified information, after Nagato Classified information. Just be patient and look for Classified information in the next episode.

i was really looking forward to the new eps of haruhi but their wasteing alot of eps on this shit they’ll probaly only be able to fit 4 new eps(not the same ep over and over again)

i just remember that this show is one of the show that gave me trouble since the last season, last time was episode in wrong order now is a repeating episode.
