Fucking hell, that pissed me off.
The last episode was interesting, I didn’t mind watching half of the same episode again. But this episode is EXACTLY THE SAME (with some extremely small differences). Not only did they not progress the story even a tiny bit, but they wasted one of the 14 new episodes to come out. If anyone reads this comment before watching this episode, here’s a word of advice (which I’m sure the majority of the other users will agree with me on): spare yourself the trouble, it’s not worth it. Skip this episode all together, you’re not missing anything but disappointment.

tl;dr: They should have ended the arc this episode.

… Since those instances don’t exist in the light novel… technically, this time line is brand new and anything that follows could be pretty much anything… or just an excuse for some directorial choices in later episode choices…

… still very interesting.

Disappearance itself is the shortest novel, the problem is that most of the solution to the novel happens in another novel…

The third wasn’t really much different from the second. A few sentences maybe but that was it.

Having read the novel, I know it’s supposed to end at the 15498th time. The anime added one more episode, probably to torture us. And make all the novel readers sit up and scream cos they know it’s supposed to end.

But I did still enjoy the 3 episodes, cos they were all slightly different. A 4th similar episode might be a little too much though.

Maybe they’ll change the plot a little and make Kyon call Haruhi or something to provide his solution, instead of doing all that deja vu thingy. I can imagine all the viewers weeping in relief that it’s over…

I would love to watch Disappearance. If we get to Snow Mountain, and they are showing things chronologically, we should get the Disappearance too. Disappearance is a rather large arc tho… They might just separate it out… which will make me very sad…

I’m beginning to doubt that we’ll get disappearance this season. Endless Eight probably finishes next week. We’ll get some episodes for Sighs.

Also a lot of the people here are just doing exactly what KyoAni was going for, intense fanbase reaction. They are making you squirm and I’m enjoying reading the comments a lot. Also I think its a lot harder then you guys think to take the same story and animate it multiple times without a single scene being the same. There hasn’t been any duplicate scenes between the episodes. Similar is not the same.

If I had to guess the next episode will finish that arc and afterwards it there will be a few old episodes (if I had to guess up to Someday in the Rain) before it continues with new episodes which would most likely by about “The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya” because if I am not mistaken (haven’t read all the novels yet and some I have read a while ago now) the chronological order of the stories in the novels.
But of course, there is still the possibility that there will be episodes of the “production” of the self-made movie before we go on with “old” episodes or come to the “Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi”.

Why did they do such an annoying second serie? The first episode was cool and the second too. But i dont want to watch the second episode for three times. I hope the fifth episode will be something else.

Beyond lame IMO. Regardless if it follows the manga true or not, in an anime adaptation this arc simply fails. Why would anyone buy the first DVD (usually 3-4 episodes) when it has the same damn content in each episode?
