Libavcodec(FFDShow) provides superior quality decoding over CoreAVC(K-lite) and DivX. That’s why CCCP has it as the standard. The other decoders sacrifice quality for their speed.

At the time I installed K-lite, CCCP wasn’t using divx H.264 decoder but only offered ffdshow. Which was not as efficient a decoder. K-lite did the same thing that this “patch” on CCCP is doing.
