I’m still not sure what to expect from this series but it does have one thing going for it:

Most of the screenplay writer’s experience lies with great large-scale storylines (examples include Mai-Hime, Code Geass, Macross Frontier, Gundam SEED, Gundam 00). In particular Mai HiME had quite a lot of slice-of-life style episodes for character introduction before shifting focus and killing off much of the large cast one-by-one.

We just may end up with the second half telling a very interesting story. And it’s not like it’s been confirmed to be 12-14 eps yet… it could still be two seasons.

why, K-on got a 2nd season with no plot at all. we could be in for a run of shows with no plot but lots of music. doesnt that sound just great?

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing as I was watching earlier – that it was just military K-On.

Bit of a shame really because the first episode had a lot going for it. I don’t know how long this series is going to last but they really should have just picked up some sort of over arching plot by now.
