I must say this anime has a huge cast of characters – in fact, every single one of them has a name and a role to play – no matter how minor it seems… I guess it’s just for us to see just how many of them will die off at the end of the anime :P

the show would be better if they didn’t spoil that the cause of all of the deaths is vampires in the series description.. Because so far it’s just been a search to discover how these people could have died.. leaving out anything that could possibly be related to vampires..

@different; it can work both ways, some people may be drawn in due to the mystery and some people may be drawn in through anticipation.. mystery is more likely though, which I would have personally liked to be lured in by more. :(

I hear it’s hardsubbed if someone could provide us with the script we can all mux it with a 720p raw ourselves. I can re-time it (adjust times to fit raw not time a non-timed script) if necessary.

Good idea dude. How bout… you copy the hardsubs from the 360p (not extract), and put it on a .txt and sync it with the 720p? I’d do it… but… I’d be ruining the series for myself cuz I haven’t seen this episode yet =(

I haven’t seen the episode either besides it’s not like I hadn’t thought of that it would just be too damn much work (didn’t you see where I said that I wouldn’t even time an untimed script even if one was provided to me) not that I would do it in such a stupid manner anyway. If I were to do that (which I wouldn’t) I’d be using SubRip to OCR it.

Do you have video OCR? (well… if you did, then you’d probably already have uploaded the 720p by now). and yea, i’d never want to copy by hand all the subs from a hardsub.

Everyone has video OCR it’s called SubRip. And as far as you saying you’d never want to copy by hand from hardsubs not only is that exactly what you were asking me to do but you said you’d do it yourself (which I knew was a lie) but you haven’t seen the episode yet and didn’t want to ruin it for yourself.

What do you base your statement that most of HorribleSubs releases are hardsubbed on? Most of their releases are softsubbed except for some of them like their 360p ones. Obviously you also thought it was softsubbed yourself considering you thought you could remux it and then when you discovered that you couldn’t you decided to act like you were all informed and knew something that you didn’t by saing that they hardsub everything (a statement which which you obviously based on one of their releases). Kind of reminds me of a kid who goes around saying things he doesn’t really know anything about so he can show off knowledge that he doesn’t actually have.

@ Dudeballs I wouldn’t be flaming someone when they actually know what they are talking about, if I were you. when I said all their releases I meant for shiki, And I knew it was hardsubbed I didn’t think it was softsubbed. If i could just rip the subs i wouldn’t have to retime it, more than likely it would be fine, and if not a few secs of shift would be fine. I was offering to copy the subs to a txt and retime to 720p raw and then REMUX. So don’t flame if it will back fire on you. (and I’ve been watching horrible subs since they started ripping naruto when DB had to drop the show)

everyone is entitled to their own opinion, ep 1 to me wasn’t that great just drawn out and not much happened besides them introducing 80 minor characters and like 8 major characters, and ep 2 didn’t really change much of anything the show is pretty slow so I might be dropping it

In regards to “If i could just rip the subs i wouldn’t have to retime it, more than likely it would be fine” if you really knew so much about HorribleSubs you’d know that every single one of their releases require a time shift when moving the subs to a raw cause their copies don’t have the “This show was brought to you by the following sponsors” thing in Japanese right after the opening. Also you wouldn’t be retiming the subs since you’d be writing the script from scratch you’d just call it timing. Retime/remux usually refers to taking softsubs out of a video and adjusting the times on the sub script so it syncs up perfectly with the raw you are using. I’ve done this many times and released it here on AnimeTake.

since shiki isn’t extremely graphic intensive you could probably just download this 360p release and enlarge the window thats what i did and it was okayish, watching on a 32 inch 1080p tv

***Side Story***: I’m studying japanese right now and i always use anime as a study tool. Better yet, since I don’t know the syllables of the words that is being said when I watch anime, i find the japanese subtitles (the kanji version; not english subs), sync the times with the scenes, (b/c there’s usually a 1:30 min commercial somewhere or b/c the Opening isn’t subbed) and add furigana using a firefox add on. I’m also studying spanish too, and i have a few spanish anime websites that i can rip the .ass files from in spanish and sync. I’d say that’s a pretty good combination; learning both english and spanish with anime >=)

And yea this show is “slow” right now there is supposed to be mystery in what is causing all the mysterious deaths and there is no hint on who the main character is. Seems similar to Mouryou no Hako.

The reason japan was sucking up to shade is because shade said he might do the subtitle copying if he wasn’t to tired after work.
