tnx for the avi guys, i tried using mkv for my stable format but it just wouln’t cut it, Big files over 200 mb would continually skip(code geass mkv is a monster) i don’t have problems with mp4 HD files though. i’m really wondering why this is the case. I have a 2. something gigahertz pc, so i thought it would be okay.

    11. funky Says:

@Se3D03 very strange indeed. any 2.0+ghz pc is able to decode mkv files properly, even high quality ones. If the video is not playing smoothly, then there are mainly three obvious possibilities:
      1. you have spyware/adware/virus - in that case, remove whatever anti-virus you have, and just get the best one; NOD32, and clean up all the junk, or better still reformat your pc with TinyXP rev.09 (the best windows xp yet).
      2. you have a ridiculous amount of applications running in the background. check near your clock, normally at the bottom-right on the screen, and see if you can reduce or exit any of these running programs, at least while you’re watching your movie.
      3. do alt-ctrl-del, click performance tab and check your memory consumption under PF Usage. if it is above what you have installed in your computer, then seriously consider buying more RAM. 1GB of RAM is recommended for Windows XP and at least 2GB for Vista. Also check on your CPU consumption. If you are not doing anything and the CPU load is high or there is any sign of random processing, then your computer is most likely infected (see #1 above).

I hope this helps. I like to help anime fans enjoy their anime better :)

      Cheers!

    12. Se3D03 Says:

tnx a lot Funky, I’ll try the NOD32 antivirus.

My ram is only 768 mb? would that be a problem? whenever i check the performance tab, there is still plenty left while playing mkv’s, the cpu though always goes up to a 100 percent and that’s when the video goes haywire. Nabari no ou’s opening theme seems to invoke this alot.
