I completely and wholeheartedly agree with Funky’s comment.

BTW do any of you guys know if there is going to be a second season of this? I know it’s unlikely since this didn’t follow the manga very well and has heavily agitated Sekirei manga fans like Funky and I. But my younger sis’ keeps on bugging me asking if there are more of this is going to be made.

To all Sekirei fans… i just got the time to finally settle down and watch that last episode of Sekirei… my last words when the episode ran out… WHAT A BIG SACK OF DOUCHE-BAG-RY!!!
It drowned the whole anime… sunk it to beyond any hope of it ever getting nearly good enough to waste any bandwidth on. and all the hopes of it EVER getting to be nearly as good as the manga (not that the manga was anything especial btw, since it’s obvious fan service).. the last few minutes of this episode… WTF IN HELL WAS THAT??? It definitely looked like some kind of super-accelerated narration + a trailer-sort for the second season. It kept saying something like; watch out for second season… yeah, you should watch… yeah, you need to watch… yeah, the story doesn’t end here… blablabla. FUCK THAT! yeah, i’m just a little pissed. and i don’t think i’m watching that shit ever again. sorry to all ppl who actually found enough reason and courage in themselves to like this. but the animation and voice acting was so poor in this last one, it made me want to puke looking at the badly animated sekireis and fucked-up plot, especially when musubi was fighting in the end and she was using up one of her arms (apparently, having to hide her nipples is more important that using her fist-fighting skills to win and live).
the guy screams like a douchebag (oh, did i use that word already?) and the story is bent and twisted to fit that 20min something, so that it ends within the planned 12 eps. what about the upcoming season? i don’t care and i don’t ever need to see the rest of this alienated series. it messed up all the tension and good parts that the manga managed to build up. funny (and sad) thing is, it accelerated the story towards the last few mins, and as it turned out there was more interest in these last few mins than the whole ep itself. anyways, maybe i’m over-exerting myself writing about this. maybe this anime doesn’t deserve a review, since it’s fan service turned wrong. plain ridiculous in fact.

My advise, as a now Sekirei manga-fan only; go read the manga, and forget the anime ever existed. i liked the music, i liked seeing the characters in color and motion, but that’s it. don’t bother to relate to the story since it’s all been compressed and twisted. oh, btw, the sekirei doujin has been released, and believe me, it makes more sense getting the doujin than your 20min watching this ep. nothing to do with animetake, ofcourse, as they are always kind enough to provide it asap. anyways, stick to the manga, and you should not feel the urge to puke when you see Sekirei with big boobs poorly drawn, lacking any interesting dialogue since the good parts are sooo unskillfully censored.

The anime so far followed the manga pretty closely, only a few small differences. The anime used about 50 manga chapters for season 1…the total manga is 71 chapters atm…but since its a monthly manga there’s only 12 manga chapters per year..so if they will wait for enough manga chapters before starting season 2 of the anime..we will be looking at 2-3 years of waiting….though since they announced a second season already i doubt they will wait such a long time, my guess is they will follow the manga as far as they can and then make an anime-only plotline and release it perhaps arround 2009 =)

If they are gonna wait for enough manga releases before starting season 2 of the anime i guess we are looking 2010-2011 ish before we get to see it (with the slow monthly manga release)…however it’s also possible that they will follow the manga as far as the manga goes at that point and then go on with the story anime-only, like full metal alchemist also did…if they continue it in an anime-only storyline i guess we will see season 2 in 2009 =)
