OH NO IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD SOMEBODY PUT A DIFFERENT TYPE OF VIDEO STREAM IN MKV THAN I USUALLY SEE EVEN THOUGH MKV WAS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO SUPPORT AS MANY DIFFERENT A/V STREAMS AS POSSIBLE.

For whatever reason, MakiMaki decided to use the lowest quality raw available. And just muxing the subs into an MKV means they don’t have to encode before release.

Yes, Shinji is a guy from Crunchyroll. [Shinji] = [Underwater-Mahjong]

Booyadude, uh, no. Shinji = HorribleSubs, except for the difference that as HorribleSubs they just rip the CR video stream and subtitles, and as Shinji they use the CR subs with their own encode.

Underwater-Mahjong uses the CR subs with an encode from the TV Tokyo Transport Stream, except the subs have been edited to have correct mahjong terminology and QC’d in general. The only thing common with Shinji and Underwater-Mahjong is that the subs originally come from CR in both releases.

well, my reason for watching this anime is that it has all my fav seiryuu in it, that’s y i’m enduring the yuri theme, though normally i wouldn’t watch any shoujo ai, shonen ai

Daiz, basically what I meant was, they are pretty much the same fucking thing and there is really very little point in both of you doing it. Your encode might be marginally better(wouldn’t know, don’t watch this) but really, it’s like somebody makes two tacos that are pretty much identical, and they only want one. Why was the other taco made?

Did you somehow completely miss the fact that I have a horde of mahjong guys fixing, editing and QCing the subs?

If it’s to the point where some editing and QC actually make a significant difference, then I can see the reasoning, but I didn’t think CR translations were bad enough that it would. Clearly I overestimated them.

Why do I love this anime so much?

For all intents and purposes, it sucks. The animation is terrible, and mahjong is boring.

But I love it.

I also watch Queen’s Blade.
