“Brave Story” from GONZO. Once again, another spectacular job from the animators at GONZO! Drawing clouds is probably one of the hardest tasks to accomplish even with a computer (the bluray version I watched helped a bit too), but even so, kudos to the animators for such a wonderful job! A young Wataru turns to a world that can supposedly grant him any wish when his parents suddenly divorce. A fun little movie to watch over the summer! And my phuzy-ratings for this movie are…

Story: 8/10
Animation: 9/10
Character: 7/10
Overall: 8/10

I really liked the storyline but due to the limited time of a movie, the producers must have had a hard time compiling 17 volumes of manga which were compiled from a novel by Miyuki Miyabe, into this constantly flowing animation film. Nevertheless, it was a spectacular job. Animation quality is top notch (as expected from GONZO). Soundtrack wasn’t particularly strong but (I can’t confirm this) what I believe to be “Aqua Timez” did provide a few catchy songs. It is a shounen style anime but who cares if you have nothing better to do on a summer day? Watch (the bluray version), smile, enjoy. P.S. LOOK AT THE CLOUDS!!!
