jeez that was the worst episode of naruto I’ve ever watched, the animation looks like something out of a Saturday morning cartoon or a homemade flash video. What with all this extra crap they’re adding in. Hinata’s episode was 20 minutes too long!

nah they do it in this style of animation when theres a huge fight scene….rememeber when naruto and sasuke first fought….it was done like this :)

its funny i newer have experienced bad quality in naruto. one of my friends said that if you godt a bad quality episode, try downloade again. its beacouse sometimes the downlode fail i some points. as i said i have never had a bad quailty episode/ animated from naruto.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. Yeah the animation needed some time getting used to. But teh animation was something to be expected. Because Naruto budget is just not that big. The have to choose between fast paced action or ”detailed artwork”. And in this instant they choose for fast past action.That’s why we get the the round twsited forms without a lot of detail, so they can concentrate the budget on the action.

I just read this episode’s chapter in the manga, and NONE of this battle is there, the manga goes like this: naruto transformes, crushed the necklace, pain does the first jutsu, then it explodes, then they go out of konoha, then pain does this last jutsu that put naruto under the rocks, that’s all, this battle most of it was a filler to extend the episode to get more money, i guess that’s why the animation was so bad, but anyway i saw in the preview the animation is better again :)

If you didn’t like the Naruto vs Oro fight that’s one thing but it was exactly like the manga, so that’s not the animators fault.

What.. the fuck did I just watch? Did they try to do some sort of comedic act? What the hell was with 4-Tailed Naruto smashing Pain into the ground with a piece of rock like in the old cartoons?

By the way guys, the animation itself was great. It’s just the very different style of animating that looks ‘weird’. Very psychadelic indeed.

Actually this is probably one of the best episodes for animation in awhile, it doesnt have any of those shots where the camera just pans in onto a completely static screen. There is constant action… I dont know whats worse, narutards thinking this is shitty quality or that you were expecting good quality. This also reminds me of birdy.. which is a good thing. Be grateful for what you have.

Seriously, people. Like I said: just the style is very different, but this is actually great animation. The sky looked fucking great. The meteor rain looked fucking great. Almost all was in constant motion. You shouldn’t complain just because some heads look ‘watery’..

Claymore, a 2007 anime, was able to make fast paced fight scenes beautifully fluid. The animators here were just lazy and inexperienced.

I like the animation. It’s refreshing. I don’t think it’s cheap at all, it’s just a different art style; ever since the Hinata ep anyway. I for one completely dig it. I also don’t think it’s as much a force field as it is just him keeping the repel-jutsu up. I hope they keep this style cause that was hella epic.

hmmm from what i’ve read to make this kind of scenes they have to hire animators just for this episode because there just isn’t time enough.

After I saw the animation on this I got a little disappointed but I could watch it.

WTF is wrong with you? Do you really think that this animation is bad? You all obvoiusly need to learn something about animation production. The animation is broken up into different teams and most of them ARE in korea read the fucking credits dipshits. The team that did this episode is the animation team A, the highest quality team, they do the OP and ED also. This is not a change in style. Every time something important happens in the storyline they do the animation production. The characters are simplified for ultra fluid movement during fight scenes.
Go back and watch episode 131 when Jaraiya fights Pein as an example of high quality animation.
Then go back to episode 114 for an example poor quality low budget animation. Watch closly at the 10 minute mark You’ll even see Itachi disappear from view.
If you still don’t get it after that theres no hope for you.

I’m glad to see a few comments from people who actually relize the quality of this Episode.

Seriously I couldn’t care less about animation production. I care about good episodes and this wasn’t one of those. Starting on a ridiculous filler fight where the animators didn’t consider important facts such as pain’s 5 sec delay between tecnics or added some realy awkward things such as a “kyubi’s lazer gun” or pain’s water jutsu. You can come up with any arguments you have to prove the episode had a good animation. But the truth is that it isn’t relevant, because from the negative feedback you can tell that the majority of this serie’s fans didn’t enjoy this important episode.
I admit this episode is original and highly more “artistic” than the other ones, but that doesn´t mean people will actually enjoy it more.

I’m not much of a Naruto fan and I don’t care if you’re a die-hard fan of this series, but htis episode is the worse! I know the animation gets disorted when there is a fight scene, but the animation sucked ass even when they were standing still! I also know that they wanted to make it different from the manga, but that fight was utterly useless. I enjoyed this part quite a lot while reading the manga, but this episode was total crap. The fight didn’t impress me either. I think Jirajya’s (whatever the hell you spell his name)fight against pain seemed better even though they didn’t show that much stuff.

Damn, some of you guys really hate the animation for this episode.

If you don’t like the animation, then make one up yourself, since it seems your so confidence that you can do better.

Even if the animation looks watery or messed up, it really looks realistic, since “gravity” is in effect.

Drive a vehicle that travels almost at the speed of sound, and people will notice how your face will turn watery or start contouring.

The option that the animator could have made would be like DBZ, since that is how fast Naruto and Pain went in this episode.

Always remember that “haters will hate”, and have a nice day. :)

Funny thing about all your arguments is that before 3 episodes pain was talking about how people are incapable of understanding each other, and now you see that what ever you say one to another, no mater how good your arguments are, nobody will change his opinion… So people just relax

Go back and watch episode 131 when Jaraiya fights Pein as an example of high quality animation.
Then go back to episode 114 for an example poor quality low budget animation. Watch closly at the 10 minute mark You’ll even see Itachi disappear from view.
If you still don’t get it after that theres no hope for you.

haha yo !! gohasuke remember well those animes which donot have action/adventure/comedy are the wrost animes ever. its good that after so much battle people laugh in the 167 episode !!! so this anime is a complete action,comedy and adventure anime !!!

someone said couple pages back that the fight in this episode wasn’t anything like a ninja fight, well duhh kyuubi ain’t no ninja, he’s a beast
it would be utterly ridiculous if naruto went kyuubi mode due to rage and just sat down and said “ok i’ll just calm down, count to 10, do a couple of kage-bunshins and beat him with rasengan”, the fight couldn’t possibly be anything like battle between ninjas and animators tried to present that

ok the tendo face going pudding-mode was a bit off according to me, and animation is different compared to previous all episodes but i still have no objection against it at all, episode was pure action without flashbacks (like gaara and naruto fight) and i liked it

nagato practically controls life and death so tendo receiving all that punishment and being braught back isn’t surprising, he did braught back to life those two bodies that were pierced by jiraiya with those pretty darn big @$$ blades
i think you all who complaint about endurance of pain bodies underestimate rinnegan

and pein bodies are dead already, they don’t feel pain and even if they did nagato still wouldn’t feel it, so their neck and all being broken doesn’t mean anything ‘cos they don’t move on their own they’re moved by those black rods which nagato can freely create, and rasengan is on a completely different lvl from physical attacks it f****s up you inside

all in all i love this ep. all the rampaging and stuff and i agree even when i was first watching i thought “dragon ball style fight”
and i don’t mind cubicle shaped rocks ‘cos their shape isn’t relevant for fight at all, plus it would take a hell of a lot of effort drawing and animating all different types of rocks so complaining ’bout that is making a big deal out of nothing,
if you wan’t perfection go and pay some animators to make it that way

I don’t like Naruto either, but this is some good animation, although it looks weird. It’s probably something experimental. It’s not because it looks different and weird that it’s bad. Deformation in animation is quite charming, in fact, my teachers would prefer this over normal Naruto animation (not that they’re the standard for animation, but just stating the opinion of some professionals).

In the studios of Naruto, it is common that they hire other animators for fighting scenes. Probably because animating in a normal sense would take too much time (for shading and stuff), the second factor (the most important one) is because the animation would come off as much looser, meaning they move more dynamically. Which is a good thing for an action scene.

Probably some of you guys don’t realize that the animators put physics in the fighting scenes, and it usually it doesn’t happen much.

The reason why the animation looked so wacky or cartoon is because of GRAVITY or aka going at G-FORCE speed which makes the face look jelly.

Pein’s bodies are dead, so the face should have always been jelly, so this time around the animation did a better job.

If you don’t like this animation, then don’t watch Naruto, since your tainting the show with your illogical negative remarks of this series.

Ok I will watch this comedy show so I can laugh about the laugh at the worst character drawing style

hmm just one question why does pain’s face changes when he’s doing an attack… i just think it’s stupid…>.< and the fight pain vs jiraya was really well animated they could at least tried this style of animation in some other episode and see the critics… dunno

To sum it up. Do I think this episode it total shit. No. I just think they made a very bad choice. when I came to very fast motion and their facial expressions/contortions.

I didn’t like when the Kyuubi hammered Pain as if he were a nail, and I didn’t like when Pain got stuck head first in the crevice, but you are absolutely wrong on all other accounts 2HOT4U.

The animation for this episode was amazing. Sure, they skimped out on some detail when a lot of rubble was falling and flying around, but the still shots of the terrain was amazing.

The water scenes were extremely well done–all of them.

The transmogrification of Pain’s face worked really well to show the intensity of the battle.

Chibaku Tensei, aside from being one of the most awesome attacks ever, looked fantastic.

When the Kyuubi broke free and the rocks caught fire and fell as if they were meteors, I nearly lost it because it was one of the best scenes I’ve seen anywhere.

The sky was brilliant.

I’m glad they experimented with this. I hope they do it more often. I was more than impressed with the content and quality of this episode.

I don’t know what you see in this animation, alot of comments said that it was amazing. well I won’t argue with that but i still think that these are what ruined the episode:
1 – when the kyuubi hummered Pein like a comedy cartoon.
2 – Pein using water Jutsu…
3 – Hinata should have drawn in that water, too.
4 – Pein using Shinra Tensai with no cooldown on those fire bullets from Jyuubi.

these are the main stuff that made me hate this episode. which made no sense to me at all.

i think you are all wrong because pain doesn’t use water jutsu but he hit the ground and the water came out from under ground and that’s really make me laugh.
one another thing that really annoying is where the hell are coming that trees…Is under the ground of konoha that much water and trees…maybe there is another world under konoha…
