December 3rd, 2009 at 5:47 pm
Wtf link for MU is down, fuck this shit
December 3rd, 2009 at 5:48 pm
I WANT TAKA NOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!
December 3rd, 2009 at 5:55 pm
dont no if this makes sense,,but if u have your graphics setup right i dont the quality will look bad..i always go for HD/HQ files but to me this didn’t look bad at all and i know it depends also on your resolution, but a good monitor always give a good boost…
December 3rd, 2009 at 5:59 pm
MU Link works now.
Same for me Konatachi, they just got SUPPER SLOW. And it’s Naruto, one show I can live with watching speed subs, or rips, or w/e , lol.
December 3rd, 2009 at 5:59 pm
but if u have your graphics setup right i dont see the quality looking bad,,i also had 2 wait on yibis for one piece but i dont anymore…been a few months without watching there release..so i say 2 all-watch it,then archive later with a higher group…
December 3rd, 2009 at 6:02 pm
I second that, flamebutterfly. Graphics cards are prolly the best means to get a good quality picture. There are times you get hiccups or artifacts during the recording but this may have to do with the download itself or the source. Try downloading again or from Taka subs I heard they’re pretty good (I downloaded naruto shippudden 135 from them and it was perfect imo).
December 3rd, 2009 at 6:03 pm
It’s mainly the RAW that determines the video quality btw. Not 100% of it,but mostly.
December 3rd, 2009 at 6:15 pm
@GodOfSpeed
the mu link was never broken,
mu’s just very gay and the files take random processing times/link starts working late etc…
December 3rd, 2009 at 6:17 pm
But yeah you would need a good monitor to be able to see the good quality of the raw in the first place anyways. Nicer looking monitor = bringing out the best the video quality has to offer.
As far as how much help a video card is…lol well it’s pretty sad if you have a card so bad it can’t handle a media file.
Regardless of all that though, if the Raw is crap, video will look like crap no matter what.
December 3rd, 2009 at 6:17 pm
i agree with FLameBuTTerFLy . i download now and archive taka later directly from thier site
December 3rd, 2009 at 6:41 pm

December 4th, 2009 at 4:05 am
Im not going to complain…Im just too scared to download it and be disappointed in seeing a great episode with bad encoding. Soo, Im just going to sit back, and watch who complains about what..then make my decision =0

Crunchyroll Stream* -> Recorded With a Screencast Tool** -> Transcoded***
I think your fears are justified.
*Terrible quality.
**Drops frames, reduces quality by transcoding to a lossy format most of the time.
***Destroys video quality even further.
At least it probably isn’t as bad as the streams from twitvid that Hotel posted. They went through the above process and were transcoded again by said streaming site.

Why do people even waste time posting shitty subs? Instead of posting the first subbed version, why not wait for a half decent subbed? Im not saying wait for the big guys like taka, db, or gg….but don’t post shit like “narutoverse” or “my first attempt at fansubbing / ripping from crunchyroll”
December 4th, 2009 at 5:10 am
I cant wait for the [SASUKE_IS_SO_HOTTT_OMG] fansubs next week!
December 4th, 2009 at 5:17 am
@Booyadude: How is that a fair comparison. We know that via streaming it is not possible to match TV/DVD/Blu-ray quality.
If you wanted to make your point, you should have got a screenshot of the CR vs the (CR rip … encode … encode … etc) and then for sh*ts and giggles post the fansub version.
I am basing this solely on the fact that the CR one had the CR logo and the other had the TV Tokyo logo.
December 4th, 2009 at 5:20 am
If you are trying to re-inforce your point that stream encodes suck against fansubs based off TV/dvd/blu-ray … then yes … they do, will, and always should.
^_^
December 4th, 2009 at 5:28 am
@Clamblader
maybe b/c sometimes, like this time, the regulars take too damn long
and some people are perfectly happy watching shitty rips…
the rest will be added when they’re out… yes what a loss posting earlier…
December 4th, 2009 at 5:31 am
dorry123: … what? I’d like to kindly ask you to read over my comment once more.
I was commenting about the process in which this release was made, as well as reminiscing about the horrible eyecancer that was once posted here. I have no idea why you’re going on about fair comparisons and whatnot.
Anyway, even though your comment seems to be pretty random, I’d like to point out that it is entirely possible to have the quality of a TV/DVD/BDrip via streaming(or even better, in the case of Crunchyroll, if they were given access to the original master). They could either increase the bitrate, and/or increase the encoding quality.
December 4th, 2009 at 5:39 am
Wow, I like this intellectual conversation. Brings hope for reality. haha
December 4th, 2009 at 5:53 am
Bandwidth isn’t cheap. How’s that for reality? HD streaming is costly.
December 4th, 2009 at 6:11 am
I wonder if you can just rip the damn file off of CR with RealPlayer..? If so then lol.
December 4th, 2009 at 6:19 am
You can get the video relatively easy, however they use a DRMtacular xml subtitle delivery system that few people have cracked, hence why you don’t see many rip groups out in minutes like horriblesubs is/was occasionally.
December 4th, 2009 at 6:59 am
Ah, that explains a lot. XD.
December 4th, 2009 at 7:29 am
Screen capture :P Shit quality, slow and pointless but it works…slightly
December 4th, 2009 at 8:06 am

TAKA DDL PLZZZ
December 4th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
@Booyadude:
1. You are comparing a CR rip to a fansub (TV,DVD,blu-ray w/e).
Apart from proving that when a fansub is made properly it easily wins against stream rips any day, it seems a pretty random comparison to me. As it does not really say anything. If you wanted to prove it was a crap encoding, compare it to the original CR source.
It’s like comparing an apple to an orange. Sure we can do it … but what is the point?
2. Yes I didn’t look over what I posted before posting it. I meant it is not feasible to have high quality streams. It is possible, and does happen, but especially in places where bandwidth and data allowance are restricted, it is not at all practical.

December 4th, 2009 at 1:28 pm
dorry123: Before I begin, I would once again like to ask that you read both of my previous comments over, in the hopes that you may gain a better understanding of what my goal in making those comments was. I will also attempt to clarify in the following point.
1. I took those captures several months ago in an effort to show Hotel Moscow why AnimeTake should not be posting such a horrifyingly low quality stream rip that he simply took off ZomgAnime. I did not take them to compare a re-re-re-encode of a CR stream to the original stream. (I hope this clears the issue up.)
2. It is absolutely feasible, no less so than high quality downloads, and, in fact, many people would find it very convenient, even more so if it automatically saved to a folder of your choice so that, not only could you begin viewing immediately, but if you closed your browser/shut your computer, it would be available for offline playback. Having a higher quality option does not eliminate the possibility of having a lower quality option, as CR already demonstrates with its 3, and even 4 on some series, available quality options, therefore I cannot understand why you find it to be impractical.
December 4th, 2009 at 1:46 pm
1. I could have sworn I saw those exact screen shots posted in another topic a while ago. That aside, it doesn’t really matter why you posted them, but it makes a bit more sense now with the rationale you just added then.
2. It is not feasible for the reasons I stated above. Some ISPs do not provide decent services, for example where I live, we have the choice of insanely expensive 100gb/month … 40gb/month … kind of expensive 20gb/month … or decently priced 1gb a month. And the speeds are shocking. I live in a major city in a 1st world country. Almost all of the country’s internet passes through our city, yet we have such crap internet plans.
I do not know of any pay-for site that allows you to download their content, so you can view it again at a later date. And unless there is some technology I do not know about that allows them to DRM that file up, to stop it being mass distributed, I would daresay it would be counter-productive for a site to offer that.
Naturally you would offer things in as large an array of quality as you could.
December 4th, 2009 at 2:20 pm
Behhhh, they should’ve made the end much more dramatic, this felt like shit. Animation was great though.
December 4th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
dorry123: I don’t mean to insult you, but it really does seem like you aren’t reading, or at least comprehending my comments entirely.
1. Yes, exactly as I said twice before, I used them previously to illustrate a point to Hotel Moscow.
2. You did not, and have yet to, give any reasons why it is infeasible and/or impractical to have a high quality stream. Again, as I’ve said before, having a high quality option does not prevent you from having lower quality options. Once again, I say, Crunchyroll is already doing this to some extent. I’m growing rather tired of repeating myself.
A select few Crunchyroll titles have a download-to-own option, that, if I remember correctly, do not have DRM. There have been a few other attempts at this before as well, none of which did well enough for me to remember the names of them, funnily enough. This is, of course, largely due to the fact that files offered were generally terrible quality, and worse than CR’s “HD” streams. Regardless, the files will be ripped no matter what they do, so offering a service I actually want to pay for (i.e. high quality encodes directly from the master) sounds like a good idea to me. There are, of course, many ways to enforce DRM on media files, but that’s certainly not something I want to pay for.
Exactly as I said in my previous post. Again.
