Seems good, except the upload button, it bugs me! The colors of the site are nice and the title is good as well. An easy design = I like. :)
And maybe show the filesize of the file you would like to upload, also the notification could it come before you press the upload button??

Below the button is so much room, it’s too sticky to the rest, maybe lower it. Also make it less wide but bigger.

Suggestion/opinion:
In the faq it says: “not everyone wishes to share the files they upload with everyone else.”
Then let them choose, put a radiobutton for public and personal. Public meaning it can be found/searched by anyone and personal meaning it is only shared for themselves or anyone they choose to share it with.

I’ve had almost the same exact experience with 2 of my cousins. During one of our family’s “cousins’ night-out”.

When we have our “cousins’ night-out” we usually sleep over at my cousin Maureen’s place, which is ridiculously cold all the time since her mom always has the Thermostat set at freezing temperatures. So we usually sleep all huddled together on the living room floor with a bunch of mattresses and blankets (and even then, it would still be friggin’ cold!).

Okay, so what happened when we fell asleep was that my cousins Maureen and Marial huddled up with me and I had no problems with that and fell asleep. But when I woke up, they were using my arms as pillows in the same way as Ako and Riko were with Keita’s arms. So my arms were pretty much dead… Forget them being numb! My arms were BEYOND numb! I couldn’t friggin’ FEEL my arms!

So I was trying my best to sneak my arms out from under my cousins w/o waking them up because if they did while I was in THAT condition… they would take advantage of my vulnerability to try to tickle me to the point where it is just painful, and I would have very much liked to avoid such a thing.

But what with luck being soo against me and my literal inablity to even FEEL that I have arms at that point. I failed miserably as they woke up at the first movement I made.

So they woke up, realized what was wrong with me, and were all like: “Haha! You can’t stop us!”. They then proceeded to tickling me by mounting my legs to keep me down since I couldn’t use my arms and then raised my shirt so that they could tickle my abdomen and armpits. But what they didn’t know was that as soon as they mounted my legs, it was all over for me because I have ridiculously sensitive thighs. I’ve made sure not to let my family members know this because they already tease me enough about my legs being very feminine even in comparison to my sisters’ legs.

So basically, I we made a lot of noise and woke up everyone else because I didn’t give up on trying to get out of my “tickle torture”. But all I could do was just struggle around and laugh as I my cousins laughed and struggled with me (I guess a lot of my ability to right myself up despite there being weight on me depends heavily on my arms because usually, I can get out from under the weight of 300+ lbs guys while lying flat on the ground) Now because my struggling against their, um… “girl parts” and their thighs just tickled them and made them laugh too.

I’m sure everyone reading this can see the degenerating “downslope” to this. Because the cause of my being tickled was them mounting my legs, making me laugh and struggle. Which, in turn, made them laugh and struggle (and flex since that is what is happening while you’re laughing). Jeez, the rest of my cousins along with my sisters didn’t even try help me out or anything! They just sat where they each woke up and laughed their asses off at my torture.

To this day, whenever we have a “cousins’ night-out” I do still allow Maureen and Marial to huddle up with me. But I make sure that I fall asleep separated from them…

I don’t think it’s really a trend because incest has been a part of romantic stories for centuries and Western countries are no exception to this. Even now, there are many romantic novels and shows that delve into the elements of incest all the time here in America.

And also, you have to keep in mind that anime is not a standalone representative of the culture of Japan as a whole. Just like how the gamer community over here is considered as a sub-culture, the anime community of Japan is considered as a sub-culture too. Although I’m sure it’s a fairly big sub-culture that does influence the rest of the countries (and others like ours too) heavily.

Well I guess I should have just said similiar experience.

But also, what’d you expect? I was talking about cousins by blood. And although my family, or should I just go ahead and say, my clan, have physical standards that are beyond your usual American family. Which is possibly due to the fact that we’re one of the largest Filipino families that are rooted in the Philippines. The Carrillo family.

Basically, we’re a very physically intimate bunch. I’m sure that we draw the line at deep kissing, and whatever lies beyond. Because I’ll always kiss my relatives whenever we get together.

Hell, here’s an example of how okay we are with each other. I remember that one time when I was staying over at my Auntie Sheila’s house (Maureen’s mother). i get were you guys are coming from but im 31 years old and i have kids so maybe im looking at it from a different perspective. i totally understand Anime being misunderstood considering ive been a fan for 26 years. every one assumes its all sex and violence and i think its as legit as any type of cinema. and Booyadude i didnt know people were actually arrested over this stuff. i was exxagerating to make a point, but ive never seen anything so bad someone has to go to jail for it. thats messed up.

show was actually kind of tame. thanks for the file conversion tutorial. very helpful. and theres nothing wrong with serious discussion every once in a while. every one this board seems to be pretty intelligent. it shows that us anime fans are real people and not a bunch of shut-ins.

Would converting the mkv file to AVI make the file easier to read and less tasking on the cpu? this is assuming that the same video quality and dimensions are retained.

I usually watch mkv’s but I’m always bothered by the problem of video delay while watching some mkv anime, like code geass and the recent gundam 00 episodes. I turn off everything including my antivirus software when playing mkv’s, and my pc, is a celeron 2.4 Ghz, 256 vid card, 700 plus mem (forgot the exact amount).

Or you could get a faster CPU. Celeron is not good stuff.

Now I get to set up my Mother’s new computer, which coincidentally, also has a Celeron(newer dual core though). But that’s plenty for email.
