@Waltz
I prefer watching english dub b/c I get tired of reading my anime (and even if you can read fast, you still miss out on the small things like facial expressions and things of that nature.)
-Since I’m learning japanese, i’ve been watching subs more than subs (mostly for listening and reading). but all in all, i prefer english <=).

Why are there less and less MU links now?
August 5th, 2010 at 10:35 pm
Supposedly people get paid with hotfile links.
A lot of scanlators have switched over to it… even though it only allows you ONE download per 30 minutes for free users.
Thank god for torrents and mirrors.

seriously this isn’t a series i would watch dubbed.. who in their right minds would bother with it! watching k-on dubbed is as sacrilegious as watching lucky star dubbed. Please grow a brain and if you’re a student of Japanese (I happen to be one too) you start noticing how badly translated dubs are and hence start hating them altogether, !!! I guess I’m ranting now. To each his own !

What is this delicious treat that has appeared before my screen? Oh, K-ON!! i was blinded by my own excitement and simply lost my sanity, if only for a moment. But Ive regained my composure and am now downloading. So worry not.

@apatch3
Yeah I kinda noticed that too after starting to learn the language myself. I have to say though that translating Japanese-English isn’t exactly easy as the two langauges are very damn different from each other.

@apatch3
Yea, i think the dub for k-on is kinda bad but lucky star dub was decent enough to watch.
@Naughty Shrink
yea i agree, after studying japanese for a year now, i noticed that everything is backwards in japanese. like no roman characters at all and that if you read a japanese sentence backwards, it makes perfectly sense in english. (japanese isn’t like spanish, where as for spanish you just have to substitute a spanish word for an english word and you’re pretty much set). Kinda wish japanese was like that =(((

thx

I don’t have a problem with dubs if they are a faithful translation of what is being said. What I do mind is dubs that are partial or complete substitutions of what is said, whitewashed and westernized to make it palatable for what some bureaucrat decides is acceptable for the English speaking viewer.

Was hoping someone would have the .avi file (or the link) for those of us who like to upload to our iPods? Thank you so much.

any .avi’s on ??

I don’t have the whole “this sentence seems backwards” problem since i grew up as a bilingual, and besides Pashto and Japanese have tons in common as far as grammar and sentence structure is concerned, usually translating directly from one to the other just by replacing each successive word is good enough.
@ Japan Dude : you’re right lucky star’s dub made my ears bleed I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a bugger blunder in the whole dubbing industry.

The Japanese seiyou(sorry if i mispelled that), that voice the characters in K-ON! and K-ON!! are 50% of what makes the series so fun and appealing.I cannot imagine ANY dub, no matter how well done, could ever even come close to the quality of the original.
August 6th, 2010 at 4:49 pm
Thank you for posting the .avi file!
August 6th, 2010 at 7:41 pm
@Tezs : I have to totally agree on that… The Seiyuu’s give the series it’s humor and makes it fun… For example: Mio’s Seiyuu is also working on another series you might know, Called Seitokai Yakuindomo as one of the main characters… And It works the same way, even though the series is fun itself, the seiyuu makes it even more…

Thanks for posting the megaupload links. I hate hotfile so much and fileserve just doesn’t work for me ><
