After watching the first episodes I went and watched the original series and all the ova’s. I suppose I would have to read the manga, but I wonder why people were upset at the original series and they just didn’t continue it. Well at least this seems to move at a faster pace so hopefully it will catch up with a year or so of episodes.

animetakefan1, Madhouse doesn’t really do ongoing anime series. This’ll probably do to 26 eps then have a later season, or maybe if were really lucky itll get the 50-52 episode treatment (highly unlikely).

@Nudertaker I checked out the anidb, it seems when they are involved with production it is very rare for over a couple dozen, Nana 2006-2007 47 episodes, World Famous Fairy Tales 1976 – 1979 127 episodes

I read the manga in my early childhood, and I wasn’t even aware that it was made into an anime previously.
Either way, this is VERY nostalgic for me and likely to be my highlight of the season.

The reboot of this series is somewhat fasttracked..
This episode ends at the same time as episode 5 of the original series..

Watching this series from scratch somewhat requires you to have watched the previous HxH to actually enjoy/understand it.
(eg. Gon catching the fish his father caught gave him his mother’s approval, etc.)
Still I think watching this alone is good enough.

They really are missing out by fasttracking. I would watch the original with all the ova:s instead. why could they not have continued the original serie instead that would have made me happier. This is so much less violent and serious than the original so it’s hard to take it serious.

i watched HxH so many times that i can’t remeber them …maybe more that 16 times XD … idint like the ost … its kind of too childish …but other than that i cant complain about anything …the pace is a little bit faster but i like it that way … i’ve just finished rewatching HxH so i really want them to catch soon XD

@darknana the pace might be kinda fast, but that pace is the same as that of the manga. the first one hxh, had many additional parts added in, to add more content or something

did the fullmetal brotherhood got these kind of responses? i mean, it also has a fast pace remake then continued onward to what happened in the manga, and it ended pretty well. these will be my expectations in the HxH remake, i watched the original, so there’s no doubt that i cant restrain myself on comparing, but i’ll give it a try.

the original was far less reassuring. Dunno if that was just the director adding disturbing stuff to clash with the childish character designs though. oh well, it’s only the 2nd ep.
The pirate music is really adding to it though :D

@Admor, same here.. Somehow, at least until now, they haven’t really added anything.
Maybe the graphics are a bit better (although the designs seems to be more or less the same), and it’s 16:9, but that’s just about it.

they look more mature in the old series compare to the new one,
just got the new cccp beta, surprisingly it’s alot more better than the K-lite codec pack, my video play back don’t stutter any more and it’s stable with 1ms jitter.
