I get a Green screen as i’m trying to watch the video with VLC video player. Anyone else having the same problem, and what can i do to solve this problem? Other than copying it to a disc.

try using mplayer and makesure you have the combined community codec pack

if your using a mac try mplayer osx

cant get it to work in linux though

ps the video may be quite buggy not sure if its the video or my mac

On Linux get SMplayer and Mplayer2

On linux, this file behaves like a monkey on crack. Artefacts, intermittent green screen, you name it, in VLC as well as MPlayer.
Plays just fine under Windows, admittedly.

Sounds like what it did on my mac
though cant get it working on Linux (Ubuntu) on any of the available players and just get a green screen in Vlc both in Linux (Ubuntu) and through WINE plus cant get mplayerclassic to work on WINE
can someone who has a working copy do a CRC of it and post that as it could be that my copy is corrupted

If yours is a corrupted copy then playback difficulties would not be so widespread on both linux and mac. Also, a corrupted copy would not play perfectly on Windows.
More likely, the ripper either didn’t test outside of Windows, or is using a codec that doesn’t work well outside of the Windows environment.

@people with playback issues on Mac:
Plays fine on an i7 Mac Mini here (VLC 2.0) but I did notice that even the DVD rip is encoded Hi10p, so if you’re using a standalone player (WDTV, etc) or an older version of VLC (pre 1.2), then it’s not going to play correctly.

So is anyone else having trouble with playing this on vlc player on windows 7? All I keep getting is a green screen with audio. I tried downloaded the codec pack stated above in this section and nothing. Anybody know how to fix it? Help!

Cannot play video..even after trying the suggestions of the previous comments…still getting either of two problems: green screen,or video will not play at all. Please help/fix
