yeah it is subbed, it isn;t that bad teh subs and they don’t sub it. it is the offical subs that they use and gonna use for dvd’s. eclipse and db are better but they fine to watch

I just noticed, why is the avi so much bigger than mkv? for like 200mbs xD

500MB for an avi version of a 24min show?
Thats way too much. The 720p version of it is around 330MB.

Well something is obviously wrong for the avi version which should be smaller being like 75% bigger…I could convert the eclipse 720p mkv version to an avi format to the resolution of your choice if you want?

i love this anime and i really am thankful that HnG has a sequel, but every time i watch this, though it is very nice, at the back of my mind, i can’t help but compare it to the first season’s graphics……. oh well, guess it’ll take some getting used to….

Do you have a specific resolution you’d like the avi to be in? I have the 720p eclipse version. So i could keep the resolution at 720p or what ever.

I guess I’m using the crappy converter (using insane quality) settings ‘-’, MJM128, how do you convert mkv files without making the file size bigger or losing the subtitles?

I use avidemux and mkvextract (its a terminal command program in linux) I extract the the subtitle track(s) and then open the video in avidemux. I adjust the video/audio settings and then add the subtitles.

As for making the file size bigger, I’m not even sure how’d you make it bigger when converting, since you can’t exactly just gain quality outa nowhere.

What program(s) are you using for converting?

Scratch the stuff about the bigger file size. Some formats compression rates are more efficient like that of h.264 (normally found in mkvs) compared to xvid (normally found in avis).

I’m used to converting but downscaling the resolutions when doing it so the size of the video didn’t strike out to me until I converted the mkv 720p hayate into avi (xvid) 720p and the filesize was ~150mb larger than that of the original.
