Because uzumaki apparently had a J-Horror film adaptation and it was terrible, but I also haven’t read the manga though (but the film was terrible on its own).
Good choice to animate this instead.

Logic brain mode: off. Illogical course of story, and the fact that humanity will be totally screwed if any virus (zombie) source comes from the ocean. And the final boss supposed to be a blue whale zombie, or a giant crab zombie, or a sponge(bob) zombie.

I hated most of the characters, there were a lot of events that just didn’t make any sense, massive plot holes… and yet I seriously enjoyed watching this. It’s like someone took the strangest fetish hentai they could find and loosely strung it together with a horror story. Definitely not for everyone, especially due to all the contrived nonsense, but great for a laugh and general weirdness.

Yeah, the manga was one of the strangest and silliest things I’ve ever read, but what made it horror instead of ridiculous was the genius drawing.
Whereas this is just entertaining in a so-bad-it’s-good type way.. Or maybe all that 10-bit bollocks made the animation look worse than it was…

of course the story and char in the manga are better
yet i enjoyed seeing something new in the ova
