The Tale of Genji (源氏物語, Genji Monogatari) is a classic work of Japanese literature attributed to the Japanese noblewoman Murasaki Shikibu in the early eleventh century, around the peak of the Heian Period. It is sometimes called the world’s first novel.
Should be interesting about the romances and affairs of Genji as he seeks position amongst the scheming and complexities of the imperial court.
This with The Three Kingdoms and Journey to the West are some of the most famous ancient stories in the East.

It is a bit chic fliccy. Not sure what to make of it, even if it’s an ancient classic. I always like how watching an anime adaptation can save you from having to read the thing but…
I’ll watch a few more, see if I get into it, but this seems very shoujo, and not in the good way like Nodame or Lovecom.

hmm looks alright i might try it :)
January 17th, 2009 at 1:42 pm

I’ll give my (worthless) opinion after I watch the first episode. You know what they say, don’t knock it till you try it.
Thanks for always bringing us new, sometimes odd, material Veritias.

X (…..zzzZZZZ, Huh? Wha? Oh, it’s over. I’m sure it would make a great book, and I’m sure the book was way better. It’s a great look into the lives and mindset of people from that era. However, something like this is just not suited for the story telling media of anime.

lols surprisingly (serious, not sarcasm) i have to agree with ThatGuy.
it kinda boring for an anime.
