Default Varible Framerate Encodes - 08-05-2010, 02:29 PM

I only know onr group that releases vfr episodes and thats yibis (one piece), I think its awesome as all motion shots are butter smooth. Only downside is they are practically impossible to recode them.
So do you like or dislike vfr encodes + do you know any other groups doing them.

I like "watching" VFR but I hate working with it. It makes typesetting damn near imposable. I know my group uses it and I know there are a few others but cant remember names off the top of my head. Probably any of the few groups who release in mp4 are VFR.

I like watching anime shows that has vfr since the video quality is very smooth in a battle like in One Piece, but I think phuzysubs uses vfr as well with Nurarihyon no Mago since the frame-rates changes so much throughout the episode .

It could be nice for the quality but subtitling could really be troublesome, the change is big that the subtitles don't appaer on the right time.
By the way, how many video encoders can do vfr?

I can do VFR so I'm sure anyone who knows about encoding "can" do it they just choose not to.

Most poeple choose the easier rout instead of fighting with VFR even though there is a way to get aegisub to work with it. I've never got it to work write but it is there and the poeple over at the aegisub site says it works.
