Cats or Dogs?

my family has had a dog for over 4 years now, and I recently moved out again into a house which has a cat.

His name is monty and I hate him.

Don't get me wrong, I like most cats, but I hate this one. Hes always begging for food, keeps on disturbing me when I'm on the toilet, shows up on my window at 3 in the morning meowing to get in.

So I was wondering, which do people here prefer, cats or dogs?

I'm a dog person myself, I just like the dogs cheerfulness over the cats arrogance.

Yeah I like dogs better, especially the bigger ones.
If I get attacked in my house my cat will probably look at me and be like "stfu, i don't care"
Where as the dog will gently but surely rip their arm off ^^

serious answer: dogs are pack animals and are usually very kinful to those they consider their family. 99.9% of the time they will consider the human to be the alpha male, thus being very obedient and thankful for any sort of treatment given in most cases. Whereas felines are not pack animals, aside from lions(but even then), and are usually very independant and arrogant. However since cats are dependant upon humans for a source of food and all, they will have expectations and will require them at times of their choosing.
