I don't know much about hardwares.
But I do think that there a number of gpus that are better than ps3 or 360 gpus.
I have a gtx 260 and played RE5, Dragon Age: Origins, Batman: Arkham Asylum in my 1680x1050 monitor keeping every configuration high. I didn't notice any lagging of sth else. Everything just went fine. And about playing games I care more about gameplay than graphics or how much resource its gonna take. That's why, even now I enjoy POP: Sands of Time more than any other game. And still enjoy Herculis (!) which is a pretty old game. And I don't think I can play a ps2 game on a ps3, can I?

Besides, with my pc I can browse internet, then watch anime, after that do some gaming and then spend sometime on photoshop while listening to some music and later browse again to see what's happening around the globe and again play a game without moving a single inch, and in background I'm always downloading something.
