I'm not a teacher, instead I'm a instructor (since I haven't finished a University yet). I don't use glasses, and we unfortunently use Linux (Ubuntu Edition) on the computer lab.
Guys, the city hall did EVERYTHING they could to get the lowest price on computers and everything. They took 3 years to buy a computer lab to that school, they bough weak computers and didn't even cared about getting a real computer science teacher! The school's director had to run all over the city to find someone to teach the students.
I go to a private school which is a fundamental (Avarage: 7-14 yo students), ensino médio (Avarage: 14-17 yo students), college (17-?) and is also a technical school, and they teach Engineering and Computer Science here. She asked to everyone from Computer Science and no one cared about teaching, so she turned out into asking help from the ensino médio. There were lots of people who knew even more about computers than me, but I was the only one who helped her.
I managed somehow to teach some things to my students, the teachers were very friendly with me, and the younger students were the easiest to teach.
This year I was supposed to stop being a volunteer there, but the director gave a recommendation and a review of my abilities to the city hall and they hired me
600 reais a month (240 dollars), 5 days a weak, Health Insurance, 1 PM-5:30 PM plus assistance in the morning if any teacher requests.
Currently, I'm on College, studying economics.
