1st choice: Ubuntu Linux for my main purposes (documents, music, torrents, file storage, fileserver, torrent server, security, the list goes on..)
2nd Choice: Windows XP (gaming and I have my windows xp tinkered out to the most of my ability to the way I like it)
3rd Choice: Windows 7 (some gaming and test purposes)

th Choice: Windows Vista (it can go die in fucking hell, and be brutally raped by unicorns and the windows logo)

I especially love ubuntu linux for watching videos/anime since I can have my video player ontop of a window that I'm working on. So I can essentially type a paper, or web browse all while watching a video.

Win 7 is secure as long as you have Avast or something of the like and are not stupid enough to actually download a virus. If one does somehow get threw you can always blast it to hell with malware bytes.

I can support that lol

This thread is indeed pretty pointless, since we techs know that this thread will eventually just become a big fight of who is better of the 2, windows or Linux. =,=

~btw, I got XP on my Toshiba laptop, Vista on this desktop and a pirated Windows 7 on my VAIO laptop.

I was more talking about using outdated hashes for storing passwords that can be hacked in minutes, the ability to take total control over the computer since most programs nowadays have to run as admin just to work...There's a lot of vulnerabilities in windows. YAY windows vista and 7 now have a "true" admin account. But inorder to run almost everything it seems you have to run it as admin...which defeats most of the purpose of having an admin account if your going to run every goddamn thing as admin.

I want Windows 7, and I'll never get it, but at the moment I'm fine with Windows Vista. O.o
Scratch that, I need a new operating system.
