In the television show, the underlying reason for the war is the possession of nuclear weapons .

A recently declassified footage (video) of an american nuclear missile test that was attacked by an alien vehicle was shown. The alien took about 5 burst of energy discharge before destroying the missile.

And this was allegedly one of the the reason why the Reagan administration started the Star Wars Missile Defense program.

Apparently there had been countless sightings of alien beings here on earth, and most of them were in Mexico. One was actually captured and the remains were shown on TV. Quite eerie actually.

I highly doubt it, there is probably other sentient being in this universe but war in the next 3 years?

Apparently there ARE other sentient beings out there.

And about the waging war, they may have started already, covertly that is, in the form of viral/biological warfare...... It would seem that most of the recent diseases (flue type diseases from early 20th century to present) originated from where alien craft were allegedly sighted.

Well if you think about it logically not even USA has real chance to fight aliens, its like a child with a wooden stick trying to fight a fully armored mobile fortress (aka Carrier) oh well if you get the idea if there are aliens with physics so advanced to do that then there is no really a way for Humanity to fight em since the technology would be 2 advanced even for US to fight even with secret technology, our only real chance would be if the war is passive if they are belic alien beings but i doubt that megalomaniac universe domination aliens would go easy on us, they will destroy USA in a flash not even giving it the chance to stand up and then destroying the other countries would be made in a matter of seconds

If by alien race you mean North Korea, then I could see it. Otherwise we are just making sure we can dominate with weapons if nothing else.

All aliens have to do is push a couple of meteorites into our path to either hit earth or the moon.

if this is true then there is nothing we can do to protect ourselves, unless we were allied with a rival alien race, THEN! the fun would begin for world governments, however since aliens our probably hundreds/thousands/millions of years ahead of us, they could have easily eliminated us long ago.
