Actually, it has changed a lot, but 100 years or so will do that. The large barn on the right has gone, to be replaced by stables, and the lake has receded a bit. Also, on the far right of the picture, you can see a thatched, conical-shaped building which is not here any more either, and Christ only know what it was for. Possible for storing grain, straw/hay or feed.

It's 320+ years old that we can date. And it is nowhere near as ace as you would think. Old buildings have their problems, most of which are difficult to redress due to restrictions placed by law on structures of that age. For example, the front of the house cannot be changed in the slightest. If anything has to be replaced, it must be
exactly the same as the original. So no double-glazed windows, which means it gets very cold in winter. Any brickwork has to use bricks recycled from houses of the same period that have been demolished, and that is bloody expensive. Timber as well.
