Default Which form of media evokes the strongest emotional reaction? - 01-18-2011, 05:47 PM

Was kinda interested in how other people respond to different form of media.

I myself have been always wearing the same smile all the time, even when I am sad. I could never force any tear out, just keep on smiling the same way. Heck, I am not sure if I am even sad or not.

To me, the only thing that can simulate my emotion is music. Usually not the song itself, but the past event which somewhat get tied to the song.

What about you lot.

I have tried them all and I must say that for me at least there is nothing that can beat the emotional level of a good Visual Novel. Its like the anime version but it goes into so much more detail and really makes you much more involved with the characters thus upping the emotional level. It is like combining the detail of a book but adding most of other elements that make anime good such as deep music, voice acting and images to convey everything.

It also depends on what the personality or the interest the person has. For me that would be TV of course.

I completely agree on this. Visual Novels are, so to speak, the only books I like and the only media that gets me emotional at all.

Exclamation Radio and Television - 01-18-2011, 07:46 PM

This topic is very generalized and should be more specific.
The Seven forms of media are:

[I] print (books, magazines, and newspapers)
[II] recordings
[III] cinema
[IV] radio
[V] television
[VI] Internet
[VII] Cell Phones

Now when it comes to invoking an emotional response, it will depend on the personality, surroundings and availability in the type of media with regards to location. You can't possibly have a movie house in all the places or a radio and other media form.

- It will be subjected to the type of media which is available in the current location of that person.
- Even his surrounding affect his or her mood and so it will also be a factor if the form of media will have any impact at all.
- Plus the personality if he or she falls in one of the different category of media. For example in movie, Suspense - Horror - Love Story - Sci-fi - and so on.

But for me the most influential and maybe evokes the strongest emotional response is radio and television since it is available in radio waves. Most of this mediums are free and readily available than other media. And that my friend can include music, movies, etc. in its list of entertainment and information services.

Are you taking up Media and broadcasting course or something?

Sorry but video games are not a media because it’s a game. Same like hide and seek or board games which are not media. I hope nobody will be offended by this rectification.
