Default Watching a movie - 09-24-2010, 10:23 PM

Just watched the movie 'Shooter' on RTL5 (Dutch channel). It started at 20:32 and there were commercials at 20:51. Okay, that's alright. After 8 minutes I continued watching and at 21:12 again...commercials. Damnit, I've only seen 13 minutes of the movie. My patience was already running out here.

After 165 minutes, I finally finished watching the movie. The movie's runtime is only 125 minutes. So basically I'm saying I've just watched 40 minutes of commercials.

Is it normal to have so many commercials in just 1 movie?

The Moral of the Story kids? Watch movies on demand. Or rent them. Or pirate them and watch them on your computer. I'm sticking with pirating.

Comercials? They still have those? DVR is the way to go if you insist on watching any television. Just record everything and watch it later, I haven't seen a comercial I didn't intentionally want to watch in over 5 years. ^_^

Local and network television has to compete with cable tv. Even if those local and network channels are brought in by cable they still have to pay for that access. As that cost goes up, and it has gone up quite a bit in the last 10 years, that cost will be passed on to the consumer. Eventually local channels will no longer be able to justify the cost and fold. Cable providers know this. Soon they will own all the local broadcasters. Then they will move on to the big networks. If they are allowed to continue they will systematically eliminate all the competition. Left unchecked they will unite into one bloated world wide conglomerated. Broadcasting their propaganda to all the world. We will be to the mercy of a never ending stream of infomercials. There won't be a home anywhere with out an abdominizer. A garage with out a can of power paste or a kitchen with out a bacon genie.

MY GOD PLEASE LISTEN BEFORE IT'S TO LATE! WE HAVE TO.............ah we have to..............we got a.........
I'm sorry what were we talking about........

To make a long story short: commercials are going to take over the channel.
I might consider recording shows on a hard drive.
And downloading? I'm already downloading enough from this site. No commercials in anime, let's keep it that way!
