Everyone should play Disgaea once in their life time. Oh speaking of rpgs I really recommend Persona FES, 3 and 4.

Anyone that likes the oldschool sprite games with anime artwork should desperately search for Odin Sphere for the ps2.

I think without question the most beautiful 2D game on the ps2.

Those sprites remind me of Seiken Densetsu 3 for some reason.
Oh yeah, and if you haven't played Seiken Densetsu 3 for SNES, get an emulator and play it.

Oh yes I really loved that game and speaking of Odin Sphere, there's also Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Wii ( same guys who made Odin)

I'm just looking for decent Jrpg's with their original Japanese dubs but with English Subs too. I'm not a big fan of Turn based combat like the older FF games too though... A combat system like Eternal Sonata had is more than okay.
Either PS3 or PS2 and even Nds and Psp if I can get my father to loan them to me.
Only Jprgs I've played lately were Eternal Sonata, Star Ocean Last Hope and FF12.
Any ideas? I'm thinking of picking up Resonance of Fate as well somewhere next week.

Same as above but try Tales of Abyss for PS2 first since Tales of Vesperia isn't out yet for teh PS3 but if you do have Xbox360 do it, go for Vesperia.

Namco stated that they have no plans of releasing PS3 version of Vesperia outside Japan.

Disgaea 3 Absence of Justice comes to mind. It's a strategic RPG and definitely worth buying.

I don't know what contributes towards a 'modern' RPG, but have you taken a look at Star Ocean The Last Hope: International?

@Asgara, yes he has. We both bought it 2 weeks ago and both enjoyed it thoroughly.

Thx for the replies earlier, will search for a ps2 disc of Tales of the Abyss then first and will see what to do after that one. It's a shame I don't have an xbox 360 though, but I can always buy the Japanese games if I really want them I guess

So you mean not online but games with a good multiplayer component?
If you like tactical gameplay, I'd recommend MAG for PS3
Uncharted 2 has both a good single and multiplayer component as well.
If you want a good MMO experience on console the best I could recommend is White Knight Chronicles.

Im looking for any good real-time combat game with a heavy focus on exploration, maybe anime styled graphics. Sort of like White Knight C. but you know, better. For ps3 btw. And i have Elder Scrolls IV
