Default New firefox update disabled IDM extension - 07-21-2010, 11:26 AM

So I downloaded the new Firefox update and found out it disabled the IDM extension. here's a quick fix for this problem:

*note* you may want to make a note of extensions already disabled by Firefox so you can disable them again after applying this quick fix

1) Type about:config in the firefox address bar and hit enter
2) Click 'I'll be careful, I promise'
3) Search or scroll down to find extensions.blocklist.enabled
4) If the value is true, set it to false by double clicking it (or right click > toggle).
5) Restart Firefox and IDM extension should be enabled again, along with all other previously disabled extensions

Enjoy

Did they give any reason to why they disabled it or the other extensions?

Incompatibility/Instability which in general causes the occasional error.

Makes you wonder what's more important.
Security or usability?

Is the IDM important then?
