Default Help on using StaxRip - 06-05-2010, 09:53 PM

I just recently started using StaxRip to do miniHQ animes as I'm running out of space, and so I need help on something. I used a template and guide found here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

After I encoded something, I was very satisfied with the quality and file size, but it took 2 hours per 24min episode. Is there a way to speed up the process without ruining much of the quality?

I have not used that program before but I have a friend on here that uses it,or has used it.I believe he found a program that he thought was better.According to him the process is slow as crap though..lol.. You may ask him for some pointers ^_^ [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Hmm, I guess I'll stick with the current one if it is slower than the one I'm using. Can you maybe ask him to take a look at this thread since I don't want to ask someone a random question...

Just out of curiosity, what is the resolution & the resulting filesizes of your encodes with this program?

The resolution will be the same as what you put in there. The file size for a regular 720p anime is roughly 70mb.If its done right its awesome and its great for band width challenged people. If some one used this program to add mirrors here,I think they would get popular in a hurry..lol

Well. There ARE sites that focus more on small sized encodes, like minithreatre. So thats pretty much where people with bandwidth problems go i think.

At Raven: The resulting resolution is the same and the size after encode is an average of 70mb and less. The original size was 175mb with 848x480. The resolution can be changed to your liking, but I like 480p better.

And no, I am not going to use that program to add mirrors here, I'm doing it solely for my private use. Atm, I'm trying to see if I can still get good results while using this computer at the same time, because my sister's spare wouldn't boot up(that piece of junk).

Sounds like you knew the answer to your original question that you began with. The mirror idea was just an idea for another luxury here at AT.I dont believe that minitheatre holds the patent on mini encodes ^_^
