What you did wrong my friend was ...you downloaded the basic pack and not the mega one. It's also free

Have fun watching your anime
K-Lite, inferior

CCCP, superior

Just click on download CCCP. It covers pretty much every format and most codecs.

Well my motherboard was fried like a yr ago due to me constantly leaving it on alot. What would happen is that whenever i turned it on little black strips would appear across when i turn it on when it was fried and the same thing happen when i played videos on the video player. Is there anyway to due a system check on the motherboard to make sure its not that at all?

this sounds like your laptop is old and overheating, don't replace the gfx card since it won't last long anyway if it is due to overheating.

download speedfan or some other temperature tool and check the temps on your gfx card and post them please, also the model of your graphics card xD

yeah but the life of a laptop is much shorter than a desktop due to the temperatures the components are exposed to, keep that in mind xP

also post the temperatures xD

Read before you insert foot in mouth. As for being a caveman, maybe. But I repair both desktops and laptop in my cave. Do you? Comparing it with open heart surgery shows you don't.
As for your "change video card laptop" search. This took my about 8 seconds to find.

You really should learn more about how to use and repair computers. Answering questions regarding the topic just shows your ignorance.

As far as warranties regarding upgrades on computers go. Even my mother knows to check her warranty before something like that and she's in her seventies.

Dude big deal, look's like you have enough time to fix computers all day, or are unemployed, in my case i don't open computers because it's not my thing, but from previous experience yes video cards on laptops die and they take the board with them(not guilty), in this particular case i did not know alienware has separate dedicated grafics cards for their laptops big deal, if i'm incorrect just please google change video card on laptops and you'll pretty much know what im talking about, i even know you will not search for it, so in the end im not mistaken, neither am i a computer mechanic, just a ramdom person trying to help someone with the knowledge and experience that i have from working with computers, btw APU'S, and any cpu corei3,corei5 or corei7 with a gpu HD2000 or 3000 sucks terribly, and another thing if you'r siblings know a lot from those machines is just a perfect lead to understand of the many problems that computers can get to you. Best thing to do is just buy a new PC US$2000 ~ 3000 will set you ok for 2 years.
