Default Website Issues - 01-07-2012, 09:35 AM

I have been using Animetake for quite awhile at first to get older anime I had missed or didn't know about, afterwards to keep up to date with the current releases. About a month ago I started getting some rather weird issues after I have visited this site most other sites would not load or take multiple refreshes to load. I would have to either close the browser and wait awhile or restart the PC to get access back again, with or without the router made no difference.

Tried cleaning the PC and it still only happened after visiting this site, and recently I even reinstalled windows which was annoying yet it still happens mainly after visiting this site. There were a few other anime fansub sites that had issues even without visiting here but those were their faults.

I have noticed that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware would block this site but none of the others I have visited, had to add it to ignore just to post this. The past week I have been trying to keep up to date on new anime's without Animetake which has just been annoying since most other sites that have a good list which is stream and I prefer to download thus having to track down which fansub is doing each anime.

Well since AT hasn't changed significantly in the last month it makes it pretty obvious that the problem is at your end. As for what to do, that depends on what you've done so far. Have you tried running in safe mode with a network connection, then attempting to connect to AT? Have you disabled any start-up programs like MAL Bytes and your anti-virus program to see if that's the source? Have you cleared out your browser? What browser are you using? Have you tried another browser like Firefox?

To be honest it's impossible for anyone to diagnose your problem because of the limited information you provided. Kind of like calling a mechanic and telling him only that your car won't start. Then asking him why.

I use Firefox the most but I have tried Internet Explorer and Google Chrome nothing changed there, no I didn't try running it in safe mode just to see if the problem exists there too. Seeing as it only happens when I visit this site in which I would have to allow it through Avast and Malwarebytes just to view the page. Which only after viewing this site do problems arise if I avoid this site all together there is no trouble what so ever.

As I mentioned I cleaned the PC with multiple different programs at the start to try and fix it to no avail, in the end I did a reformat and reinstalled windows again kinda hard to see it is on my end of things. Malwarebytes block the IP from the site as a malware threat which doesn't surprise me when I get issues like that ONLY after visiting the site.

Most of the time I download the anime via torrent but I mainly use AnimeTake as a list if not a quick link to the torrent, I have Comcast Cable 20mb/3.5mb and my PC is
Q6600 G0 OC@3.3
Asrock P43 Twins 1600
GTX 560
4GB DDR3
Asus DG Sound
Antec 550w

it sounds like you're being throttled by your isp.
Does it only happen after you start downloading torrents?

1. Comcast is known for "BitTorrent throttling".
2. Malwarebytes blocks sites which contain "bad stuff", this could be from adware/spyware to viruses or fake antiviruses.
It's probably blocking the site because of one (or more) of the advertisements.
3. Browsing the internet and torrenting at the same time, can make sites load slower or not at all. Make sure your torrenting program is configured correctly.
4. ???

Every time it was happening I wasn't downloading anything at the time and my router is secure no one else was downloading anything either. So throttling doesn't really seem possible if there wasn't any downloading going on when I visited the site, I have tried at different hours so it wasn't that my bandwith was low due to neighbors or anything along those lines.

When it first happened I didn't have Malwarebytes installed before and after the reinstall of windows. As for browsing while downloading there is never a problem before and now as long as I'm not visiting this site.

I still think it's one of the site's advertisements that is causing the problem.
Probably one of the flash ads.

Get yourself this: http://flashblock.mozdev.org/
Or a decent anti-advertising plugin.

Clear your browser cache and see if that fixes your problem.

Tried what you recommended but it still happens, though I didn't really have any flash ads popping up to begin with most I have blocked with Adblock on Firefox.

I have also noticed that it seems to do it more often when I use links on this site like your link to that flashblock took multiple refreshes to get to the site.
