10-bit playback alternative decoder -

Hi. I just wanted to share an alternative to CCCP which works really great on my (somewhat older) system for H-264 playback including the new 10-bit encodes. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] I used the MPC-HC + madVR option, took a little time to set up, but now everything plays smoothly without any tearing or other issues, so maybe worth a try if you're having problems.
MadVR as a picture-renderer is a huge resource hog. Use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] instead of ffdshow for decoding and use whatever picture renderer you're used to.
Edit: Ha, just read the directions page in first post which has you install LAV filters. That's fie but I'd ignore the rest of the instructions. Having MPC's subtitle renderer doing desktop res subtitles will probably take more processing than just using VOBSub like you were before on CCCP. And the MadVR step, like I said, will greatly increase processor usage. I recommend Haali for better-than-normal picture but not-so-crazy extra CPU/GPU usage.
