Stop using VLC.
Uninstall all codecs you might have installed.
Download: http://cccp-project.net/ and use the MPC that follows.

Have fun.

CCCP > K-Lite > VLC
You can't go wrong with CCCP.
IMO.

CCCP is a ram hogger and windblows only.

I would suggest you use SMplayer with the latest mplayer executable.

I only use vlc as a backup player.

Use VLC nightly if you want to play Hi10p H.264.

Recommend: Change to MPC-HC + madVR + Reclock Audio Renderer for better quality and performance (higher than CCCP)

99.99% of fansubbers out there will encode the videos in 10 bits from now on. Which means, the anime that you use to download are no longer 8 bits and thus the current settings/players your using will not be able to play the upcoming videos.

I suggest you to delete all codecs and download the latest CCCP like everyone said above. OR, you can get another player which there are PLENTY of players out there that will play 10bits with no problem.
You'll maybe need to tweak some settings to play the video flawlessly however, players like poplayer, KMplayer etc will have no problem playing the 10 bit videos.

If you still can't play the 10bit videos flawlessly, than I suggest you to upgrade you GPU which, I highly doubt you have outdated one. This is the last resort btw.

DXVA isn't working with 10Bit yet, so its all about processor power. I tried out several of 10bit releases, and so far, my PC. (specs on on my signature), takes about 30-40% of CPU for playing some videos without DXVA. For comparing; old 8-bit 1080p BD-rips took only up to 15% of CPU with DXVA, and I was able to use all possible video filters.

I want support for DXVA already for 10bit... I don't like watching those blurry images. If encode is bad, you can't simply fix it with DXVA anymore.
