Default No subtitles, CCCP downloaded - 09-21-2011, 09:15 PM

I wanted to watch episode seven of Usagi Drop, and I see that there were no subtitles. I looked on the FAQ immediately, and downloaded the Combined Community Codec Pack. However, the subtitles still didn't work. I was watching Mawaru Penguin Drum not that long before, and that worked fine. Please help if you can!

Can you give us some details (format, encoding etc.) about the file and the player you were using? (VLC, wmp,mpc etc.)

File can be broken and not loading subs correctly, get a tool like hksfv or quicksfv and create a .sfv, open the file in notepad and see if the checksum/crc32 (8 digit code) matches the one in the filename ie "[Mazui]_Boku_Ha_Tomodachi_Ga_Sukunai_-_00_-->[858EBA34]<--.mkv -->858EBA34<--"

If there's nothing wrong with the file you can always try uninstalling CCCP+whatever codec crap you use and install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack from codecguide.com

I don't really know about the encoding or anything (I am new at this), but I use Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

might be that you need to manually load subtitles.
if that doesn't work use VLC player

Please read & do this part

1) Download and install [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] OR [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
2) Rightclick on the episode/.mkv/.avi-file and select "Generate .SFV file" / "hkSFV -> Generate .SFV"
3) When the .sfv has been generated rightclick on it and select "open with" and select Notepad.
4) Look at the last line in notepad, a good file may look like this:
Code:
SomeAnime.01.[BEEFCAEC].mkv BEEFCAEC
and a bad file looks like this:
Code:
SomeAnime.01.[BEEFCAEC].mkv FFFFAAAA
(notepad wont actually give you the green and red colorcodes i'm just showing you where to look)

Redownload the episode if the hash/8-digit values doesn't match- if they do match uninstall everything that's related with codecs in "add-remove" and only download and install K-Lite, ive been using it for YEARS and it's yet to screw me over when it comes to my video watching and en/decoding.

The more you know ~ / You're welcome ~
