Default Firefox problem with megaupload - 08-08-2011, 05:55 AM

Well I read the faqs and not post threads about other websites but I'm sure this is computer based problem, not them. Anyways things go like this.

Whenever I download in megaupload using Firefox it just stops around 15-16kb and then it finishes, of course the file then is corrupt. But when I use IE, it downloads just fine. Mediafire, fileserve etc works fine too in Firefox, only Megaupload problem.

I prefer using Firefox instead of IE because of the plugins so I don't feel like opening IE every time I download in MU. So any ideas about this one? Oh and don't tell me about download managers because I don't really use one except when if its not a file host or torrent

try Illimitux addon for Firefox. its specifically for megaupload. Don't know if it will solve your issue though, honestly sounds like either an addon is interfering, or you need to reinstall it. I have never had this issue before and I only use Firefox, so sorry I can't be of any more help

Hi there. I've never experienced your problem with megaupload before, but worse comes to worst, you can always use IE Tab Plus addon for Firefox that'll enable you to automatically open megaupload in Firefox using IE engine. I always keep this addon to make sure I don't need to launch IE application, which sucks big time. When using IE Tab Plus, although the engine is IE, the security is Firefox, which is a lot better.

It could be how firefox handles lag spikes and d/c, or maybe you just download at a bad time using firefox and a better time using IE. My only suggestion is try to reinstall firefox to see if that helps.

And I know you don't like to use download manager but if you download a lot from megaupload, I would suggest you do since megaupload is one of the rare site that actually let you resume a download if it gets d/c.

Try getting the Megaload manager for Firefox, it's plug-in that integrates with Megaupload.

It couldn't be a system error, since the other applications are working well, and from a programming standpoint, it's really all the same under the hood... Therefore, it has to be an application error.

Updating/reinstalling Firefox would be a good idea, as tormentedsoul suggested. Firefox 5 really improves a lot on the performance and speed. So even if that doesn't work, you will still have a "better" firefox than before.

Try checking your browser setting, specifically the network/proxy settings. Also make sure that you do not have unnecessary toolbars, extensions, etc that might interfere with firefox.

Also check that you don't have other applications, firewall, antivirus, etc that is monitoring or restricting firefox.

That is all that is to it.
