Like say I want to download a whole chunck of link from there.

But whenever I copied the .mp4 files.. the link came out like this

Notice the "..." in the middle of the link?
Somehow the browser or something skipped the middle of part of the link, causing jdownloader to receive broken links. I don't know what to do.

when it is like that, what i do is i click the link then i copy the link from the clicked web page...... the more cumbersome way.

For link protectors : just follow the link til ya get on the page then open the page source and copy past the link in there to jdownloaders.
Works with any link protector.

Good morning fellow readers,
this tutorial serves the purpose to solve three questions:

1.) What the hell are ccf/dlc/rsdf files (where are my links) ?

2.) What should I do with these?

3.) How can I create such containerfiles?

Well, the first question is solved pretty easy.
First, many uploaders fear abuse.
Abuse done by the media in order to remove files from oneclick hosters (rapidshare, megaupload and so on.)
It's annoying for people having uploaded a movie only to see that the filehoster has taken it down within 1 or 2 days (or even hours).
Therefore, to protect the links to these files, some smart prople have invented containerfiles in which the links are encrypted to protect them from said abuse.
Yes, I am aware that even DLCs can be decrypted using specific programs but many people don't bother to do that if they don't have the tool.

Also, it's just easy to post a fuckload of links without creating a linklist or a huge downloadlist of links.

Containerfiles are kinda similar to .torrents as they only contain file informations.
For torrents, it's the metadata of the file you're going to download and for containerfiles it's the links to the files.
Therefore the size is not really big - you shouldn't be getting more than 100kb per container in most cases.

Now that you have a brief overview for containerfiles, we come to the main part of my guide:
The usage of .dlcs combined with the handy program called 'jDownloader'.

The most common filetype for containerfiles is .dlc as ccf and rsdf files are easier to decrypt - thus we make use of such a .dlc

Now say you find a .dlc
What do you do? Open them with MPC-hc?

No, we're going to use jDownloader - a quite popular downloadmanager which is capable of downloading:
a) Direct links (http)
b) mp3/flv (youtube e.g.)
c) Containerfiles

To use jDownloader, you have to install JRE at first (Java runtime environment).
You can get the webdownloader here:

After having installed JRE, we're ready to download the jDownloader itself from here:

Wait for the download to end, extract the archive using WinRAR ( ) and install the program.

Now start it.
After a short while, you'll be shown a window and wait again... yes, java is slow as hell.

Finally, you see the user interface.
Normally, jD runs an update to get the newest version, so just be patient until you're being asked to restart jD.

After doing so, waiting again for it to start, you're ready to go.

Now you just click your .dlc (or whatever Container) once and drag it into the jDownloader.
A bar will appear showing you the current state of the encryption.

After the bar disappears, you click the tab 'Link grabber' located in the upper part of the interface.
You now see a Folder which holds a bunch of lines (yes, those are the links).
You click the [+] left to that folder to see them.

Offline links are automatically sorted into a seperate folder and tagged 'offline links' so you don't have to worry about sorting them out manually.

Now you right-click the folder containing your links and hit 'continue'.
You're now shown the actual download window.

Click the big arrow in the left upper corner and wait.

Depending on the amount of simultaneous connections you've set in the lower right part of the main window, the corresponding number of connections is being built up and downloaded.

All you now have to do is to get some coffee and wait for the download to complete.

Before you ask, jDownloader is capable to extract the files out of the splitfiles even if they are password encrypted.
To do so, hit:

-Settings
--PlugIns & AddOns
---Extensions
----jD Unrar

Under 'Advanced settings', you can choose the behaviour of the feature (I'd recommend checking the sub-path checkbox to maintain the overview in your downloads-folder.)

If an archive is password encrypted, you'll be asked for the password when unrar.exe tries to extract the archive.

You can specify the password inbefore by right-clicking the 'folder of links' and hitting 'Set Download password'.
The password furthermore is being saved under:

-Settings
--Modules
---Passwords & Logins
----Unrar/Extract

The list you'll create overtime will be gone through everytime you need a password to eventually find a matching one.
That means you only have to type/paste a password once since jDownloader learns it and types it for you the next time.

Now as you know, filehosters generally suck.
They either suck because of the waiting time, low downloadspeed or both.

The solution is a premiumaccount.
Say you bought such a premiumaccount to download faster.
jDownloader can integrate your data and use it for downloads.

Privacy notice:
Passwords are not saved anywhere else but in an encrypted system file inside the libraries of jDownloader.

To set a premium account, browse to:

-Settings
--PlugIns & AddOns
---Host
----Premium

and click 'Add account'.
Now from the dropdown menu choose your hoster and type in your details below.
Hit the OK button and wait for jDownloader to ask for the legitimacy of your account (same as the log in to the respective premium zone).
After, you see a small icon in the left corner along with a bar which defines your remaining traffic (e.g. rapidshare).
As jDownloader now verified that your data is legal, you can use that account to download your files.
The number of accounts you can specify for each hoster should be high enough to meet your expectations as you can add LOTS of accounts (multiple acounts per host also works - in that case, jDownloader uses the first until no traffic is left and then goes one line down and so on).

Basically that's it.

You're now able to directly download containerfiles and get the files downloaded and automatically extracted.
Yay.

Now one more thing, jDownloader can even grab links from your clipboard.

To do so, hit this button:
Now all links you copy into your clipboard are grabbed by jDownloader and listed in the link grabber tab.
This makes it a lot easier to especially download links in the often used [code]-tag.

You have heard a lot about DLC and surely want to know how to create such a small wonder.
Worry not, jDownloader can do that.

Just mark the links you uploaded, wait for them to be checked and right-click the folder.
You see an option 'Create DLC'.
Click that.
Now specify the name and the place and you're ready to upload that dlc somewhere,

There's also a second method which is a lot more awesome to manage .dlcs but I won't go through that this time.
Maybe I'll extend this tutorial.

This thread doesn't only exist to make you to get to know containerfiles and the perfet helper tool, but also to help you with issues concerning these topics.
Therefore feel free to ask me about things you don't understand / want to have explained in more detail / expierience while using jDownloader.
