Default Can't access site? - 06-28-2011, 10:40 PM

Of course I'm on it now lol but I mean my desktop, right now I'm using my laptop with wifi.

Whenever i try to load any animetake page it gives me unable to load page. At first I thought site was down but then i use isup.me and it says it's up..so I wait a few days and still cannot get on it and I test it now and it works fine...

Any idea what the problem could be? It doesn't load on either of my browsers chrome or IE and it's only AT specific all other sites work..

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Have you checked your firewall settings? If you have any other antivirus or antimalware programs they can conflict or block a website. Try disabling them one at a time and see what happens. I wouldn't suggest disabling your firewall but you should look at its protocols to see if its blocked AT and if possible, unblock it. I had similar issues until I disabled Malwarebytes. When you use your laptop do you use the same ISP account as your desktop or do you to an internet cafe or some such? If this is the case then it's also possible that your IP address has been blocked from accessing the site for some reason. I'd check the forum rules in order to make sure you didn't bend or dent any.

The most logical thing would be that your IP of your computer is banned and the one of the Wifi not, but I don't think this is the case, have you already checked with a proxy?

The other option could be the blocking of your Anti-virus that reacts on one of the pop ups or ads on the home page, have you already tried to go directly to the forums page?

Is your laptop and desktop connected to the same wifi?

Were you logged in with the same username prior to the problem?

Hmm actually this problem and me installing malwarebytes(full version not the free one) did occur around the same time...but I think I dled in in fear a virus was tampering with my computer but I'll check.

My laptop uses wifi from the same router my computer is directly connected to. My AV are malwarebytes which I meantioned above and nod32 which I've used for 2 years and never had any problems...

And I never browse this site in public areas such as internet cafes or open wifi areas(closet otaku it's called? )

If I was banned wouldn't I be blocked from getting on the site in general with this account? I don't post much at all, occasional comment on new animu release but I wouldn't say anything note worthy...any way to check if I'm banned?

Thanks for all the help guys! I don't think my firewall is the problem but I will go test it

Edit: Turned out to be malwarebytes o_O turned off it's website protection thing. THanks for the posts guys
