Damn, I think I got another problem...
It looks like my output resolution is fucked up coz my TV supports PAL (bought it in Australia) and my PS3 is NSTC (bought it in Japan)?? Or does it mater?? shit I'm confused... though TVs/PS3s are universal?? I'm using AV cable atm and like I said before, the output resolution has been set to 480i (which is standard NSTC resolution). I can't get the damn resolution to 1080i for some reason... Should I just get HDMI to make life easier?? And also, which HDMI cable is good for PS3?? I just found out that there's couple of them and I don't know which to buy... though shit one is like $1~3 and the expansive one goes up to $100 +... lol what a price difference |

im no wiz but i think av cables are limited to 480p/i outputs, so yeah use an hdmi cable to get your desired 1080p/i resolution. the ps3 doesn't have pal/ntsc restrictions unless they are movies i think? lol

uh.... u have ps3, and u have LG 52" LCD TV (52LG70YD) but u use AV cable?? ... good grief! that is just so sad... -_-
i wonder how blurry the graphic is. If u use component cable, that is still understandable, but component can only get u to 1080i Quote:

OK, ...
1st, the more important thing (necessary for the solution of the main problem): You should use an HDMI cable. I do, I'm using the one that was with the PS3 when I bought it, and it works. I, however, don't know what the differences between cheap and expensive cables are, so I can't tell you anything on that matter. 2nd, the main Question: Once you use digital input, you should browse the settings of your TV and look for something like "resolution: native", as even selecting a resolution of 16/9 is likely to crop away a small part of the picture. I hope I could help. |

And like everyone else said above me, just get a HDMI cable it will solve the problem. The picture must look horrible on a 52" screen using an AV cable, its only HD with 720p or 1080p and you can only get that with a HDMI cable. |
