Hey everyone I just bought the English dub of K-On! DVD Volume one (ep1-4),there was a special for Sakura-con attendees.We got it several days before it was released to the general public.I have watched it SEVERAL times and its pretty good.However....i would like to share it with all my friends at Animetake,and have no idea how to go about doing that.If there is anyone who could help me with this...advice...program suggestions etc....please let me know.As i have never ripped or encoded a DVD before any input would be most welcome

Update.......i used DVDshrink and made an ISO file for it but have no clue how to upload it,the file is pretty darned big 4.6gb any ideas????

one simple way, maybe harder depending on your upload speeds, would be to create an image of the DVD and upload it somewhere so other more experiences people may encode it etc.

I got it. I was quite thrilled with it. Yes, I actually watched it twice already. What impresses me most is how well they tailored to voices to the Japanese personalities.

As long as they didn't screw-up Tsumugi I'd be happy. Ritsu is actually hysterical in english. She was always a jokester but her actress really made her cool (impressive considering she was not one of my Favs of the 5 girls). Mio is done well by Christina Vee but she isn't as adorable sounding as Yoko Hikasa made her. Mugi sounds soft & dreamy!! and Stephanie Sheh actually made Yui sound 'Less Annoying'. Can't wait to hear Azusa.

I still LOVE the Japanese one more but this is an "Acceptable" English sub - not quite as MOE as I'd liked but that's hard to pull off in English.

Aye i like it alot as well.Were you at Sakura-con ? they had a special K-On! live event it was Stephanie Sheh,I cant remember the others names off the top of my head but the ladies that did the voices for Ritsu and Mio,they had them up on stage actually singing the songs from season one OP-Ed and a couple others while playing air guitar and drums....was pretty kewl
check on youtube ya can prolly find some video of it.Unfortunately i missed the autograph session the next day(i was gonna get my DVD signed)

Chances are someone else has already done this, if not actual encodes. Might be a good idea to do a little searching before committing the time to upload it yourself.

Nah...wasn't there. I saw something like what you described on YouTube though. Christina Vee (Valenzuela) was MIO - also most known for being Louise the Zero in "Familiar of Zero").

you can use winrar to zip it and portion it off into partial files then upload those somewhere.

in retrospect not the best idea, you can use various software to rip stuff directly from the dvd.
