I need a technical expert to help solve my problem on Steam's latest PC game: Portal 2.
It's an actual (legal) game which I bought from Steam and after installation I tried to run it but every time as I start a new game it always goes back to the desktop screen with a notice saying 'Portal 2 encountered a problem and needs to shut down'. I tried everything: Restarting the computer, Uninstall and reinstall, Formatting, Defragging, virus scan, authentication scan, etc. None of them worked at all.

mine did the same thing plus a driver crash and system freeze everytime i tried to start the game but i reinstalled the game, restarted, then installed the latest NVIDIA Geforce Drivers (270.61 for me ) then restarted again. its working fine now (for me anyway) . heres the a link that might be helpful.
