Default FLAC Conversion Freeware? - 04-15-2011, 05:28 PM

So, my good friend Google has been an asshat, and keeps giving me pure trial/fail software for converting FLAC audio to MP3. My iPod obviously won't take FLAC, so I need to convert some music to MP3 to get it on thurr.. make ma speakers in da car go boomBOOM.

My question is: Does anyone know of a reliable *freeware* program to convert FLAC to MP3, that isn't trial or buy-my-virus shit? Preferably something that doesn't require a run around like... FLAC->.wav->MP3, etc.. Just a straight up/simple converter.

Thanks in advance..

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] can do what you want. You'll still need the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for both though.

foobar is probably better since you can do several songs at once, i.e. batch convert.

Here are a couple of guides:

Edit: Slow typing, Recette has already given the same answer.

Ew. iPod. And there honestly is no point in getting FLAC to mp3 for the iPod. iPod has shit quality sound, and the mp3 conversion of the FLAC is ridiculously huge and sounds like crap.

Thanks, that should do the trick.

And yes, iPod sound quality sucks.. but guess what.. it's easier then carrying around a thousand CDs, and it was free.

eeew! Don't convert it to MP3, you will lose sound quality.
Convert it to ALAC, which is a lossless format for apple devices.

I've been thinking of getting a new mp3 player. Any recommendations?
