Default MU Script to preview/watch file - 03-27-2011, 10:30 PM

Don't know if this is the right section, in that case, please move this thread.

I've created an utility which streams anime in most common formats with a vlc-mozilla plugin when on Megaupload. I originally made it for my anime-streaming website, but thought I could share it here since most of your links are from Megaupload.

It only works in Chrome and Firefox - on Windows.

Get started

1. Download vlc 1.0.5 (the later versions are filled with bugs) from vlc's ftp server [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (make sure you check the "Mozilla-plugin" box)

2. Download the userscript from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], if using Firefox you must have the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] installed.

3. Simply enter a megaupload link into your browser, and a window will be shown.

Screenshot below:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Extra
Enter fullscreen by clicking twice in the video, or pressing the little square on the control bar.

Searching
You can't search in the search bar, since megaupload doesn't allow one to reconnect, and thus searching in a file you haven't downloaded is impossible.

Controls
The controls are pretty self-evident, well, all but one. It is the SUBS button, which changes audio and subs to japanese from dub or back to dub from japanese+subbed. This button will reload the video, so make sure you don't do it in the middle of playing.

Closing
If you want to close the window or press the SUBS button make sure to pause the video first - it has a tendency to freeze if you don't.

Uninstalling
You can uninstall the script by right clicking the monkey and press "manage scripts" in Firefox or by going into tools - extensions in Chrome.

Please contribute with any errors or feedback you might come up with!

Ah, was struggling where to put it - "support" seemed a bit conceited.

Well, the pretty thing is that it's not like Megavideo, it doesn't have to convert the video to flash - it plays as it is.

Anyway - A few people have downloaded the script already, if you provide feedback I'll be able to improve it even more!

@vonpost
I understand the reason why your thread got removed now. (I didn't see your first thread)

The thing you're giving is FAIL.
I can do the stuff that plugin/extension/script is providing without much trouble.
1. Go to the MU url (btw this is not limited to MU)
2. Now open Media Player Classic (or any other media player you prefer).
3. While in MPC press ctrl+O (or go to file and select "open file...") by this time the timer on MU will have finished.
4. Right-click the link and select "Copy Link Location".
5. Go back to MPC, paste the url and press "OK".
Your streaming video starts.
With better quality, better options & more control over it than that plugin thingy.

I didn't have to download anything new, didn't take me any trouble at all and it looks better.

Your plugin has just been made pointless.
What you're doing now is advertising and you should be banned for it.

Obviously, anyone with any computer knowledge would know that it is exactly that the script is doing. The difference is simply that it gets embedded in the browser - something users might want for various reasons.

Ironic, since you talked about having a clue on IRC. The reason I was banned was because of a filter filtering my, quite frankly, shitty title. Not the content. You are free to have your opinion - if you think it sucks, then so be it. However, claiming that it is advertising is just plain bull.
