Ok the reason is

These are the current isps using the iwf list.
Internet Service Providers
BT
Claranet
East of England Broadband Network
Easynet
Eclipse
Exa Networks
Karoo
Kcom
Madasafish
Namesco
NDO
NTT
O2
Orange
Plusnet
Redstone
Research Machines
Royal Mail
SimplyNames
Sky
Talk Internet
Talk Talk
Tesco

Thus
UK Online
Virgin Media

they are applying the iwf filter list. Basicly means no one in the uk can download from fileserve

thats why...damn that pretty much all ISPs

use a VPN works for me though leaves a 30 minute gap between each download - solved by resetting connection

So, relief at finding out that's why it was happening.... and RAGE at the fact that it is happening!!
BTW, I'm on OneTel in the UK (not on the list above), but it's owned by TalkTalk (who are on the list). No Fileserve files for OneTel customers either.

I'm with Sky and I had this problem a little while ago but a couple of days ago i've been able to download from Fileserve again. I didn't do anything to try and fix it since i tried 2 weeks ago and failed.

I live in the uk... my isp is bt and I download most of my anime here from Fileserve no problem, so maybe its your download manager... I use JDownloader. I also download form Megaupload, Filesonic and Hotfile

After a quick google of iwf and finding out what it actualy blocks I think it's probably safe to say that isn't blocking anime downloads, and if it is blocking something you're after either something's gone wrong on their end, or you are in more trouble than not being able to download your file.

Anyway try ommiting punctuation from the captchas, fileserve is not blocked in the UK (just watched star driver 23 courtesy of it) so keep trying and it should work eventualy.

actually as I recall the problem is that if you are accessing a site where some, but not all of the content is blocked, you do it though one of three servers, making you and millions of other people have the same ip address.

Jdownloader and other programs that bypass captcha are a good bet (Firefox has several such add ons, I think). Otherwise, if the captcha is really the problem, paid FS membership skips the captcha I believe. A rotten solution, but if that suits your needs... Start with a short membership if you do, in case the captcha is the symptom rather than the problem.

The way the IWF filter works is that a specific file on the site (in this case Fileserve) is reported and blocked. However from then on, the rest of the site is monitored, this is where the problem kicks in.

Sites like Fileserve use IP detection and because the site is blacklisted, everyone on that ISP trying to access the site will seem to have the same IP, from Fileserve's perspective, so you'll get errors.

It's a side effect of the IWF system and JDownloader will not solve this. Premium accounts to file hosting sites generally do work.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] explains it in more detail and also here's a pretty good site checker to see if it's on the IWF blacklist:
